Import S-57 Data

Introduction

When the current workspace has UDB, Oracle or SQL datasources, you can right click to import the chart data with 000 format to the datasource. If there is no datasource in the current workspace or the datasource is read-only, the Import Nautical Chart is unavailable. By default, the target datasource is the selected datasource in the Workspace Manager.

Basic Steps

  1. Right click the node of the dataset in the Workspace Manager. Select Import Nautical Chart in the context menu.
  2. After adding *.000 file, please the following parameters:

    • Source Data : The datasources you want to import.
    • Transform Projection : Whether to transform this projection to Mercator. If it is checked, the projection will be transformed to Mercator.
    • Encoding : Whether to compress charts for saving disk space. By default, the system specifies Uncoded, which indicates that the chart is not compressed.
    • Target Datasource : The name of the target datasource.
  3. In the Import Nautical Chart dialog box, if Close when finished is checked, this dialog box will be closed automatically when the process is finished; if Show progress bar is checked, the progress bar will be displaying when the data is processing.
  4. All of the files can be imported to the list box by clicking Import.
  5. In the Import Nautical Chart dialog box, if Show progress bar is checked, the total count of files and the count of files that has been processed will be shown when the data is being processed.
  6. You can click Cancel on the Import Progress window to cancel this operation. A dialog box will pop up to confirm you whether to cancel it. Click Yes to cancel this operation; click No to continue this operation.
