Click Layouts > Layout Properties to open the Layout Properties panel where you can set layout properties.
Layout Grids
The Layout Properties panel serves various grids settings.
Show Gird: gets or sets the display of grids.
- Check the box to display grids in your layout.
- If you don’t check the box, the application won’t display grids.
Grid Snap: Gets or sets whether to support the grid snapping.
- Check the box to snap to grid when drawing and editing objects in the layout.
Grid Interval Settings
- Horizontal Interval: The horizontal gridline spacing. The unit is in 0.1 millimeters.
- Vertical Interval: The vertical gridline spacing. The unit is in 0.1 millimeters.
Layout Ruler Lines
The Layout Properties panel includes commands for scale and ruler line settings. You can specify the visibility of both scale and ruler lines and set their styles.
Display Scale: Check the box to display scale in the layout.

Show Ruler Lines: Check the box to display ruler lines in the layout.
- The ruler lines helps you locate, resize, and align layout elements precisely.
Ruler Lines Manager: manages ruler lines in the current layout window.
- Click Ruler Lines Manger to display the dialog box where you can set the ruler line styles.
- Modify ruler line properties: You can change the position and type,either horizontal or vertical, of a ruler line.
- Add a new ruler line:
- You can add a ruler line by clicking the Add button on the toolbar, or right-clicking in the list box and clicking Add. For a new ruler line, the default position and type are respectively 100 and horizontal. Change the position and type of the ruler line according to your needs.
- In addition, you can directly type the position and choose the type in the empty record at the bottom of list to form a new ruler line.
- Also, you can click the ruler icon in the top-left corner of the layout window and drag while holding down the left mouse key to add a ruler line for the layout.
- Delete existing ruler lines: Select one or several ruler lines and click the Delete button on the toolbar to delete. Also, you can right click the selected ruler lines and click Delete in the context menu that shows up.
- Click OK to save the changes and close the dialog box. Or click Cancel to exist the dialog box without saving the changes.
Scrollbar Setting
The Layout Properties panel provides commands for controlling the display effects of the layout window.
Horizontal Scrollbar: Determines whether to show the horizontal scrollbar.
Check the box to show a horizontal scrollbar on the layout window.
Vertical Scrollbar: Determines whether to show the vertical scrollbar.
Check the box to show a vertical scrollbar on the layout window.
Scale Settings
The Layout Properties interface provides commands for controlling the display effects of the layout window.
- Min Scale
To enable the min scale percentage setting, check the Min Scale box. To specify the min zoom percentage, you can directly type a value in the combo box to the right or click the drop-down arrow and select a value from list.
The minimum value you can specify is 1%. If you uncheck the Min Scale box, you can zoom out the layout window until 10% of its original size.
- Max Scale
Set the maximum zoom level of the layout window.
To enable the max zoom percentage setting, check the Max Scale box. To specify the max zoom percentage, you can directly type a value in the combo box to the right or click the drop-down arrow and select a value from list. The maximum value you can specify is 1000%. If you uncheck the Max Zoom box, you can zoom in the layout window to no less than 400% of its original size.
Layout Background
Change the background of the layout and the paper.
Basic Steps
- Click Background drop-down arrow to display the color panel.
- To set the background color for the layout and the paper, you can click Pick Color to pick a color from your screen, directly select a color from the color panel, or click Color Library for custom settings.
Note: The specified background color applies to the background of the layout and paper and will not be printed.
Setting Object Display
The Layout Properties panel composes of a series of commands for setting objects’ styles, like Text Overlapping Display, Text Antialiasing, Line Antialiasing, and so on.
Text Overlapping Display
Text objects may overlap each other in the layout window. The Text Overlapping Display allows you to control whether to show the overlapped text or not. The box unchecked, the overlapped text objects will be filtered out. If you want to show all text objects, check it.
Text Antialiasing
Check the box to smooth texts thereby make they are not jagged.
Line Antialiasing
Check the box to smmoth lines and eliminate the jagged display effect.
Offset Setting
The Layout Settings group of the Layouts tab, click Offset Settings to display the Layout Settings dialog box where you can offset a layout through specifying the center point again (default) or the offset values.
Basic Steps
- Click the Layouts tab > Layout Settings group > Offset Settings to display the Layout Settings dialog box.
- You can offset a layout through specifying the center point again (default) or the offset values.
- Center: Change the X and Y coordinates of the center point. Check the Center Point box to enable the X and Y integerUpDowns displaying the coordinates of the current center points. You can change the values to specify a new center point. The values are in pixels.
- Offsets: Specify the offsets of the center point in horizontal and vertical directions. Check the Offsets box to enable the X and Y integerUpDowns displaying the offsets of the center point. The default values are 0s. You can change the values to specify the horizontal and vertical offsets. The values are in pixels.
- The results are instantly displayed in the Preview area. Click OK to apply the settings.
