Manage Layout Template

Instructions

A layout template actually is a layout with fixed frames. A layout template composes of some essential information, when you are creating a layout, all essential elements will be loaded into the layout window, and then you only need modify some key information and the arrangement of your layouts is done.

provides varieties of layout templates including layout with one map, layout with multiple map, horizontal and vertical land use planning, cadastral survey, and so on to meet users’ requirements.

allows you to manage all layout templates like editing templates, importing/exporting templates, and grouping template, etc..

Function Entrances

  • Start > Browse > Layout.
  • In the workspace right-click Layouts > New Layout.

Operating Instructions

The New Layout window appears. 26 templates are listed in the window. You can perform the following operations:

  • Layout groups: The system classified all templates as four groups: All, Common, LandUse, Other. All templates is shown at the All group.

    • Add a group: Click the Add icon to create a new group.
    • Delete a group: Select a group, right-click, and select Delete to remove the group.
    • Rename a group: Select a group, right-click, and select Rename to rename the group.
    • Add a template: Select the group and click Add Layout Template in the group panel to open the Load Template dialog box. And then open the template file with the extension *.ult.
  • Edit layout template: you can edit, export, and delete existed templates.

    • Edit a template: Select the template you want to modify, right-click, and select Edit. In the dialog box, you can modify the template’s name, author, and change its group. Besides, you can rewrite its description. Click OK to save the modification.
    • Export a template: Select the template you want to export, right-click, and then select Export.
    • Delete a template: Select the template you want to delete, right-click, and select Delete. Note: The operation will delete the file permanently.
  • Import a template: In the All panel, click Import Template to open the Load Template dialog, navigate to the folder, and open the template file you want to import. If the datasource and dataset contained in the layout template is inconsistent with those in current workspace, only the map control and other elements will be loaded into the layout window.

Output Layout Template

You are allowed to create layout templates and save them as *.ult files for further use.

Function Entrances

  • Right-click in the layout window and select Save as Layout Template…
  • In the Workspace Manager right-click Layouts > Save as Layout Template…
