The Object Operations tab is bound to layout windows. The tab shows up on the Ribbon only if the current active window is a layout window.
The Object Operations tab allows you to arrange elements in the layout window.
Group Layout Elements
- Select two or more elements in your layout.
- Click Object Operations > Group > Group to group selected objects into one object.
Note: please select at least two objects to activate the feature.
Ungroup Layout Elements
- Select a group object.
- Click Object Operations > Group > Ungroup to ungroup the selected object into several single objects.
Notices
- Only is one group object selected in the layout window, the feature is active.
- The types of objects that can be split including legends and objects consisting of multiple layout elements.
Change the Layout Element Order

Click Object Operations > Order. The group organizes a series of features for the settings of elements’ order.
- Top: move the selected element to the top of the layout window.
- Bottom: move the selected element to the bottom of the layout window.
- Move Up: move the selected element up one layer in the layout window.
- Move Down: move the selected element down one layer in the layout window.
Note
- To active these features, you should select only one object.
Alignment of Layout Elements
Click Object Operations > Align. The group organizes a series of features for element alignment.
- Align Left: aligns layout elements along their left edges based on the last selected object. To use the feature, please select at least two layout elements.
- Align Right: aligns layout elements along their right edges based on the last selected object. To use the feature, please select at least two layout elements.
- Align Top: aligns layout elements along their top edges based on the last selected object. To use the feature, please select at least two layout elements.
- Align Bottom: aligns layout elements along their bottom edges based on the last selected object. To use the feature, please select at least two layout elements.
- Align Center: aligns layout elements horizontally along their centers based on the last selected object. To use the feature, please select at least three layout elements.
- Align Middle: aligns layout elements vertically along their centers based on the last selected object. To use the feature, please select at least three layout elements.
- Vertically Center: aligns layout elements horizontally along their centers based on the last selected object. To use the feature, please select at least three layout elements.
- Horizontally Center: aligns one or more layout elements horizontally. To use the feature, please select at least one layout element.
- Center Elements: aligns one or more layout elements both vertically and horizontally. To use the feature, please select at least one layout element.
- Distribute Vertically: aligns three or more layout elements equally in the vertical direction. To use the feature, please select at least three layout element.
- Distribute Horizontally: aligns three or more layout elements equally in the horizontal direction. To use the feature, please select at least three layout element.
- Distribute Evenly: aligns three or more layout elements equally in the vertical direction and horizontal direction. To use the feature, please select at least three layout element.
Adjust Layout Elements Sizes
Set the sizes of layout elements to the same size, the same width, or the same height. If you select two or more text objects, the following three features are unavailable.
- Make Same Width: Sets the sizes of all selected layout elements to the same width as the last selected layout element.
- Make Same Height: Sets the sizes of all selected layout elements to the same height as the last selected layout element.
- Make Same Size: Sets the sizes of all selected layout elements to the same width and the same height as the last selected layout element.

- To use the feature, please select at least two layout element.
