By default, the preview area of the Customize window is the Ribbon for the application program. When you customize in the Customize window, the changes would be reflected in the preview area in real time.
The preview area can provide a complete presentation of the Ribbon. However, for some context menus, they would only appear when the windows bound to them are displayed. For more information on the Ribbon and its organization, please refer to Ribbon.
Though clicking a control in the preview area will not trigger the attached function, the corresponding node to the control will be selected in the structure tree. Correspondingly, the properties of the control will be displayed in the Setting area.
Except for the Ribbon, you can preview the File button and File menu in the preview area.
By clicking the drop-down arrow on the Quick Access Bar and clicking Minimize the Ribbon, you can minimize the Ribbon. To display the groups collected under a certain tab, click the tab. When you click the drop-down arrow on the Quick Access Bar again, you may notice that there is a tic before Minimize the Ribbon. You can click Minimize the Ribbon to cancel the tic and display the Ribbon in the default way.
