Instructions
Update tiles in certain scales. The function is available for updating tiles in an area where content changes.
provides two ways for tiles updating including single-task and multi-task. Their function entrances are different while working theories are the same. We need to re-specify the tile bounds, scales, and compression ratio through the tile configuration file (*.sci).
Function entrances
- Updating tiles by a single task : Click Maps > Mapping > Single-task > Update/Append Tiles.
- Updating tiles by multiple tasks : Click Maps > Mapping > Multi-task > Update/Append Tiles.
Set the following parameters
- Scales : Specify the scales of tiles to be updated.
- Tile Bounds : Specify the tile bounds. Note: The index bounds can not be modified. Note: You are not allowed to update the index bounds, so that the product can retrieve tiles in a specified range.
- Update Vector Tile : Vector tiles, tile styles, and tile fonts are saved independently. And so, you can update them separately. In the meanwhile, you are allowed to set the buffer range.
- Fill Margin : The option will be checked by default to avoid affecting the resulting tile directory.
Execute the feature**:
- Updating tiles by a single task : After setting all parameters, click Next to perform the update operation.
- Updating tiles by multiple tasks : After setting all parameters, click Next. In the dialog box Multi-task Generate Tiles” specify the number of tasks you want to create to update tiles. For details, please refer to Run Map Tile(Multi-task).
Note : After updating your tiles successfully, a new *.sci file is produced recording the parameters you set. In the meanwhile, the program will update the parameters in the original sci file automatically. Compared to the new sci file, the original sci is more complete.
