Dataset Management
A dataset is used to store spatial objects of the same type and is one of the fundamental organizational units of spatial data. Currently, it supports various types such as point dataset, line dataset, region dataset, tabular dataset, image/raster dataset, mosaic dataset, and more.
Dataset management includes operations such as creating, copying, deleting, closing, and renaming datasets, as well as sorting multiple datasets and viewing dataset properties.
This chapter will introduce the following content:
- New Dataset: Describes how to create point, line, region, and mosaic datasets.
- Sort Datasets: Describes how to manage datasets by copying, closing, renaming, deleting, and sorting them.
- Save As/Delete/Close Dataset: Describes how to save as, delete, or close a dataset.
- Rename/Refresh Dataset: Describes how to quickly rename a dataset and refresh it.
- Copy Dataset: Describes how to copy a dataset.
- Data Export: Describes how to export a dataset.
- Recalculate Extent/Length/Perimeter and Area: Describes how to update dataset bounds, length, and other information.
- Recalculate Extremes: Describes how to update the extreme values in a dataset.
- Calculate Raster Statistics: Performs statistics on the raster values of a raster dataset.
- View Dataset Attributes: Views dataset-related information, including attributes, vector or raster datasets, projection, and table structure.
- Dataset Group: Describes how to create, cancel, and export dataset groups, as well as how to move datasets to a group and view the attributes of a dataset group.
