Save As/Delete/Close Dataset
Save Dataset As
Save Dataset As supports saving one or more selected datasets to a new file datasource at a specified path. While saving the dataset, a new datasource is created, simplifying the steps.
Feature Entry
- In the Workspace Manager, right-click on a dataset and select Save Dataset As from the context menu.
Parameter Description
- Target Dataset: Displays and sets the target dataset name.
- Keep SmID Unchanged: Sets whether to keep the SmID unchanged when saving the dataset. If set to No, the SmID will be reordered.
Delete Dataset
The Delete button is used to delete the specified dataset. It can also delete multiple selected datasets simultaneously.
Feature Entry
- In the Workspace Manager, right-click on a dataset and select Delete Dataset from the context menu.
Steps
In the Workspace Manager, select the datasets to delete. You can select multiple datasets using the Shift or Ctrl key.
- Right-click the selected dataset, choose Delete Dataset from the context menu, and a Delete Dataset confirmation dialog will appear.
- You can also use the Delete key shortcut to quickly perform the delete dataset operation.

- The Delete button is only available when datasets are selected in the Workspace Manager.
- When selecting multiple vector datasets, you can only choose datasets from the same datasource; cross-datasource selection is not supported.
Close Dataset
The Close Dataset command is used to close one or more open datasets in the current workspace.
Feature Entry
- In the Workspace Manager, right-click on a dataset and select Close Dataset from the context menu.
Steps
- Right-click on the dataset node (or multiple nodes) to be closed in the Workspace Manager, and select the Close Dataset command from the context menu.
- When creating a spatial index for a vector dataset, you must first close the dataset before performing related operations.

- After clicking the Close Dataset button, a prompt will appear: "Data related to the dataset(s) will also be closed. Do you want to close the dataset(s)?".
