Import 3DXML
Instructions for use
The "Import 3DXML" command is used to import BIM data in Dassault 3DXML format and add a Model Dataest node in Datasource.
Operation steps
- In Workspace Manager, select the Target Datasource or Create Datasource to be imported and select it.
- On the 3D Data tab, in the Model group, click the Import 3D XML button in the BIM drop-down menu to bring up the Data Import "dialog.
- Select the 3DXML data to be imported in the pop-up Open dialog box through the Add Data " button.
- File List: File List displays the currently opened files. You can select a specific 3DXML file to import.
- Basic Info settings
- Target Datasource: Select the imported Datasource by right-clicking the Drop-down Button.
- Target Dataset: The name of the opened Model Dataest.
- Import Mode: The default is None. Provides three modes: None, Append, and Overwrite.
- Parameter Settings:
- Model Centre Point: The position of the model when it is imported, represented by a Point3D. The default anchor point is (0,0,0), and the input value can be customized.
- Projection Settings: The Projected Coordinate System can be set in either Projection Settings or Import Projection File. Please refer to "Set Projected Coordinate System." "for detailed operation steps.
- Click the Import button to open the 3DXML file. At the same time, a 3DXML data node is added under Datasource in Workspace Manager.
The imported 3DXML format data is Add to Scene, as shown in the following figure:

Precautions
- The Open 3DXML feature is recommended for small volume 3DXML data because it can only open one file at a time, and the Import 3DXML feature is recommended for large volume 3DXML data because it can import multiple files at a time.
