Obtaining coordinate system
by EPSG coding

Function Description

Coordinate system creation via EPSG encoding is supported in the Coordinate System Settings dialog box. The European Petroleum Survey Group (EPSG) maintains and publishes Dataset parameters for coordinate reference systems, as well as Coordinate Transformation descriptions. At present, different combinations of ellipsoid and Projected Coordinate System correspond to different ID codes, which are called EPSG Code in EPSG. It represents information such as a specific ellipsoid, unit, Geographic Coordinate System, or Projected Coordinate System. The user can obtain the corresponding coordinate system information through EPSG coding.

Function entrance

  • Start Tab-> Data Processing Group-> Projection Settings-> Projection Settings Window-> Create New Coordinate System-> Obtain With EPSG Code
  • Reset Coordinate System..-> Projection Settings Window-> Create in DatasetContext Menu-> Properties-> Coordinate System Options in Workspace Manager New Coordinate System->Obtain With EPSG Code
  • Context Menu- > Attribute item in Map, In the Reset Coordinate System..-> Projection Settings window of the Layer Properties panel-> Coordinate System option-> Create New Coordinate System-> Obtain With EPSG Code button.

Operating instructions

  1. On the Coordinate System Settings dialog, click the Create New Coordinate System Drop-down Button and select Obtain With EPSG Code.
  2. In the Get by EPSG Code dialog box, enter the EPSG Code, which is a professional parameter. Its code ID will be different because of different Projected Coordinate System and different Geographic Coordinate System.
  3. Click the OK button to add the coordinate system under the EPSG code in the custom group.
