Move

Move the selected geometry object to a new location.

Instructions

  • Three move methods are supported: Specify Coordinates, Specify Orientation and Specify Offset.

    • Specify Coordinates : Select a base point, and then move the selected objects to the specified coordinate location.
    • Specify Orientation : Select a base point, and move the object to the specified location according to the specified length and angle.
    • Specify Offset : Select a base point, and move the object to the specified location according to the specified x-offset and y-offset.
  • The Move button is enabled if you selected the geometry object when the layer is editable.

Steps

Move by Coordinates

  1. In an editable layer, select one or more objects you want to move.
  2. Click the Object Operations tab > Object Edit Gallery > Move group > Specify Coordinates button.
  3. Specify the base point by clicking mouse or inputting the coordinate values of base point.
  4. Specify the target point by clicking mouse or inputting the coordinate values of base point, once the target point is specified, then the selected objects will be moved to the target position.
  5. To move an object again, you can input new coordinate values; press ESC or right click the mouse to exit.

Move By Direction

  1. In an editable layer, select one or more objects you want to move.
  2. Click the Object Operations tab > Object Edit Gallery > Move group > Specify Orientation button.
  3. Specify the base point by clicking mouse or inputting the coordinate values of base point.
  4. Specify the target point by clicking mouse or inputting the moving length and the angle between object and x-axis values of base point to confirm it, then the selected objects will be moved to the target position.
  5. Repeat the last step to continue the moving, or right click to finish.

Move By Offsets

  1. In an editable layer, select one or more objects you want to move.
  2. Click the Object Operations tab > Object Edit Gallery > Move group > Specify Offset button.
  3. Specify the base point by clicking mouse or inputting the coordinate values of base point.
  4. Specify the target point by clicking mouse or inputting the x-offset and y-offset, then the selected objects will be moved to the target position.
  5. Repeat the last step to continue the moving, or press Esc or right click to finish the operation.
