Data description
The World Map is a digital map with small scale created by using a series of different map projections, mainly involved to the location of the world’s distribution and geographical form, soft style, apply to the base map.
Mapping features
- It represents the distribution for each continent, ocean, lake in the world. Using the way of setting the color by country to clear the precise location and geographical form of each country and region, marking the country and the capital and other basic content;
- Through the way of dynamic projection to create the maps with different projection under the premise of sharing a data. The projection of world map includes WGS_1984 and Robinson;
- It is supported that through the method of Unicode, the names of capitals for different countries can be stored and displayed in their own countries languages in the map.
- You can click Map > Browse > Settings > Global Pan to make route coherent for route maps.

- Setting map projection
The projection of data from datasource uses WGS_1984, the function “Dynamic Projection” should be opened because of the map uses different projection. Checks the dynamic projection checkbox in Map > Map Properties, and sets the map projection you want to select.
The maps WorldGoogle, WorldImage and WorldAirLine use WGS1984, WorldCommon, WorldRobinson use Robinson, and World_ VanDerGrintenI uses VanDerGrintenI.
- Create unique thematic maps for region elements
Uses World_Common as an example
Creates the unique thematic map about each country administrative region through the tool in Thematic Map > Unique Values, and sets colors for it.
- Adding other features
Adding main rivers and lakes in the range of world.
- Creating mark
The production of mark is carried out using the “production thematic map” → “label thematic map”. Creating common label thematic map for the marks of the countries names, for the mark of capital name, the system supports for setting the capital name can be displayed in its own country’s language.
