New 3D Filling Symbol
Function Description
In order to make the Fill Style of the face objects in the scene more realistic, SuperMap provides a 3D Filling Symbol Editor for making 3D Filling Symbols. 3D Filling Symbol Editor can only make water Region Style, and Fill Style is a dynamic mode, which can realistically represent the water surface.
Caution:
The height mode of the surface layer symbolized
by 3D Filling Symbol must be set to the state of non-ground mode, otherwise the setting is invalid.
Function entrance
- Style Settings menu-> Fill Style group-> Fill symbol drop-down box-> More Symbols..-> New 3D Fill button .
- Layer Manager-> Layer Context Menu-> Object Selection Style.. item-> New 3D Fill button.
Operating instructions
- Click New 3D Filling … in the menu bar of the Fill Symbol Library selector. Button;
- Set Symbol Information, including symbol number and Symbol Name;
- Set the following parameters in the Basic Settings to display the Water Region Style:
- Water surface brightness: set the brightness of the water surface, the default value is 0.95, the value range is 0.05-0.95, and the precision is 0.01;
- Water wave frequency: set the frequency of water wave change, the default value is 0.05, the value range is 0.05-0.95, and the precision is 0.01. The larger the value is, the faster the frequency of water wave change is;
- Wave size: set the wave size. The default value is 80, and the value range is 0-100. The larger the value is, the denser the waves will be.
- Water wave speed: set the direction of water wave change. You can set the X and y direction values. The default value is 3 for X and -3 for y. You can also select the direction through the mouse. Transparency of
- underwater water surface: set the transparency of the water surface. The default value is 1, and the value range is 0-1. The larger the value is, the smaller the transparency is.
- Set the following parameter information in Advanced:
- Water surface color: set the color of water surface; Upper limit of
- reflection ratio: set the upper limit of water surface reflection ratio, the default value is 0.7, and the value range is 0.5, 1.5; Lower limit of
- reflection ratio: set the lower limit of water surface reflection ratio, the default value is 0.3, and the value range is 0.5, 1.5;
- Reflection ratio index: set the water surface reflection ratio index, the default value is 1.8, and the value range is 0.8, 9.8;
- Set Snapshot to display the effect of the newly created 3D Filling Symbol in the Fill Symbol Library. After adjusting the effect of the 3D Filling Symbol in the preview area, you can click the Set Snapshot button to save it as a snapshot. If you are not satisfied with the currently set snapshot, you can click the Clear Snapshot button and set the Snapshot again.
- Click OK to save the newly created 3D Symbol to the selected symbol group.
Application example
Case description: Make the water effect in the Pearl Bay scene.
Data Description
- Pearl Bay scene data is used for the composition of the entire scene.
- The Pearl Bay Water Surface 2D Region Dataset is used for the production of water surface effects.
Main Operation Steps
- Select the 2D Region Dataset of Pearl Bay water surface. There are two ways to add water surface effect to the 2D surface. Select the New 3D Fill button in Fill Symbol Selector on the Style Settings tab-> Fill Style group-> Fill Symbol drop-down box-> More Symbols button->.
- Set the brightness of the water surface in Basic Settings, keeping the default 0.95 here.
- Setting the frequency of water waves refers to setting the speed of water wave change, which is set to 0.1 here.
- Set the size of the water wave. It can be set according to the size of the scene. The scene here is larger, so the size of the water wave can be set to be larger. Here it is set to 80.
- Set the speed of the water wave. Here, the speed in both the X and y directions is set to 10.
- The underwater surface transparency remains at the default of 1.
- Set the water surface color to light blue in Advance Settings.
- The upper reflectance limit remains the default of 0.7.
- The lower reflectance limit remains at the default of 0.3.
- The reflectance scale index remains at the default value of 1.8.
Show Result
On the left is the effect of normal 2D Fill Style for surface Layer Settings in the scene, and on the right is the effect of 3D Fill Style (Water Region Style) for surface Layer Settings in the scene.
