Import/Export Symbols
Import Symbol File
The "Import Symbol File" function allows you to import symbols from another Fill Symbol Library file into the current Fill Symbol Library. It also enables you to import a picture as an image-type symbol into the Fill Symbol Library.
Function Entry
- Fill Symbol Selector->Import->Import Symbol File.
Operating Instructions
- In the Fill Symbol Library selector, select a group from the symbol group list;
- Click the File drop-down button in the menu bar -> Import -> Import Symbol File;
- In the pop-up "Import Fill Symbol Library" dialog, find and locate the Fill Symbol Library file containing the symbols you want to import, then click Open;
- The Select Symbol dialog box pops up, displaying the symbol library corresponding to the file in a selector style. Select the symbols you want to import from the symbol list. You can use the Ctrl key to select multiple symbols simultaneously.
If there are repeat symbols, the Repeat Symbol dialog box pops up:
- Symbol Matching Rules: Provides three rules: Symbol Number, Symbol Name, and Symbol Style. The default is Symbol Number matching.
- Repeat Symbol List: Displays the Import Symbol Number, Import Symbol Style/Name, Already Have Symbol Number, and Already Have Symbol Style/Name in a table format. You can select which symbols to keep via checkboxes.
- Result Processing:
- Select "Keep the Import Symbol": The import symbol replaces the existing symbol. If the numbers are the same, the entire existing symbol is replaced with the imported style and number; if the numbers are different, the import is kept.
- Select "Keep Existing Symbol": The import symbol is discarded, and the Symbol Number ID remains unchanged.
- Select Both the Import and Existing Symbols: The new and old symbols coexist. If the numbers are the same, the import number is automatically modified to (Current Symbol Library Max ID + 1); if the numbers are different, it is appended normally.
- Click the OK button to import the selected symbols into the group selected in the current symbol list.
