Feature Description
SuperMap provides symbol library files for storing symbol libraries, the symbols contained within them, and the symbol library's directory groups. One symbol library file saves one symbol library. In the selector, you can import and export symbol library files to achieve symbol library sharing.
SuperMap has provided five symbol libraries in the installation package - basic symbol, auto cartographic symbols, symbols for the third national land survey, 3D symbol, and workspace symbol - to manage and edit symbols.
A fill symbol library file uses the .bru file extension and stores the fill symbol library and its symbols.
Importing a fill symbol library file refers to bringing an external .bru symbol library file into the Fill Symbol Selector for convenient management and use of the symbols.
Function Entry
There are two ways to import a fill symbol library file:
- In the Fill Symbol Selector menu bar, select the File drop-down button -> Import -> Import Fill Symbol Library;
- In the Fill Symbol Selector window, click the Symbol Library Management button -> the Add Symbol Library button;
Operation Instructions
- Importing a symbol library file from the Menu:
- In the Fill Symbol Selector window, click the File drop-down button -> Import -> Import Fill Symbol Library;
- In the pop-up Import Fill Symbol Library window, select the fill symbol library file in *.bru format that you want to import;
- If duplicate symbols exist, the Duplicate Symbol dialog box pops up:
- Symbol Matching Rules: Provides three rules: Symbol Number, Symbol Name, and Symbol Style. The default is Symbol Number matching.
- Duplicate Symbol List: Displays the import symbol number, import symbol style/name, existing symbol number, and existing symbol style/name in a table format. You can check the checkboxes to keep the symbols.
- Result Handling:
- Selecting to Keep the Import Symbol: The import symbol replaces the existing symbol. If the number is duplicated, the entire symbol is replaced with the import style and number; if the numbers are inconsistent, the import is kept.
- Selecting to Keep the Existing Symbol: Abandons the import symbol, and the symbol number ID remains unchanged.
- Selecting Both Import and Existing Symbols: Both old and new symbols coexist. If the number is duplicated, the import number is automatically modified to (current symbol library max ID + 1); if the numbers are inconsistent, it is appended normally.
- View the imported symbols in the current symbol list.
- Importing a symbol library file from the Symbol Library Management button:
- In the Symbol Selection window, click the Symbol Management button, then click the Add Symbol Library button;
- In the pop-up Add Symbol Library window, use the Add button on the toolbar. Enter the symbol library file path in the Path text box or click the Select button on the right to select the symbol library file path, and edit the symbol library name in the Name field;
- Click the OK button to add the symbol library file to the symbol library list.
Note:- In the Symbol Management dialog box, the toolbar provides Add, Export, and Delete buttons to manage symbol libraries. Also, you can double-click the symbol library name in the Name column to modify it.
