Draw a legend
Instructions for use
The Legend button provides the ability to draw a legend in the current Layout.
Operating instructions
- Select a map in Layout for which a legend needs to be drawn.
- Object Operation tab-> Object Drawing group-> Legend button 。
- Click and drag the mouse at the position where the legend needs to be drawn in the current Layout to draw the legend of the map based on the attributes of the selected map.
- Map Name: Displays the name of the map associated with the current legend.
- Legend title: Used to set and display the name of the current legend. The default is "Legend".
- Number of Legend Columns is used to set and display the number of columns of the current legend. The default is 3.
- Legend Width: Used to set the overall width of the current legend.
- Legend Height: Used to set the Height of the current legend.
- Legend Position: Used to display the coordinate value of the center point of the current legend. The text boxes to the right of the X, Y labels can be used to set the coordinate values of the center point of the Display Legend, as well as the display position of the center point of the legend. Select the legend and move its position in Layout, and the coordinate values displayed in the text boxes on the right side of the X and Y labels will change accordingly; or directly modify the coordinates of the center point of the legend in the text boxes on the right side of the X and Y labels. After modification, you can see that the legend has been moved to the specified position in the layout.
- Fill Color: This Drop-down Button is used to set the overall fill background color of the current legend. Click this button, and the user can select a Default Color or a custom color in the pop-up color panel as the background color of the current legend.
- Font Settings: The Font Settings area is used to set the font style of the legend title, legend item, and legend subitem. Wherein, the legend item refers to the legend of Vector Layer; The legend subitem refers to the legend of the thematic map layer subitem, including Unique-values Map, Graudated Colors Map, Statistical Thematic Map, and Graduated Symbols Map. Click the Drop-down Button on the right side of the corresponding item to pop up the drop-down dialog box of Font Style Settings. The user can set the Font style marked in the current legend in the corresponding dialog box. Refer to the specific setting method: Modify the Setting Method of Text Style of the "Style" tab of the Uniform Label thematic map.
- Margins: The spin boxes on the right of the upper, lower, left, and right labels in the Margins area are used to set the spacing between the border of the current legend and the internal legend.
- Item Visibility: If the layer check box is checked, it means that the legend item or legend subitem is visible. If it is checked, it means that it is not visible. Note: If the thematic map layer check box is checked, all sub-items of the thematic map will be added to the legend. If you need to delete a legend sub-item in the legend, you can right-click the legend in the layout, select "Split Layout Elements" to split the legend item, and select the legend item to be deleted. Delete it by pressing the Delete key on the keyboard.
Precautions
- The pre-condition for drawing the legend is that there is a drawn map in the current Layout, which is in the selected state and is not locked.
- The process of drawing the legend is exactly the same as that of Geometry.
