Linkage Interaction with Charts

Instructions for Use

Supports linked display between charts, maps, and attribute tables. By interacting with charts, users can explore and obtain more features, facilitating the analysis of data distribution characteristics geographically.

To use this feature, first open the charts, maps, and attribute tables that need to be linked in the map. Histograms do not support linked views.

Function Entry

  • View Tab -> Window Group -> Linked Views.

Operation Steps

  1. Open the charts, maps, and attribute tables that need to be linked in a new map.
  2. In the Window group under the View tab, click the Linked Views button to pop up the window list. Check the checkbox in front of the windows to be bound for linked views. The application will automatically arrange the selected bound windows horizontally to facilitate linkage operations and browsing between windows, as shown in the figure below. For detailed descriptions of linked views, please refer to Linked Views.

  3. Selection among charts, maps, and attribute tables is dynamic. If one or multiple objects are selected in the chart, the same objects will also be selected in the map and attribute table. Similarly, selections in the map or attribute table will be reflected in the chart, and the selected objects will be highlighted in the window.
  4. Generate Diagram for Selected Objects: By interactively selecting objects of interest as a filter, create a new chart specifically for the currently selected objects. The specific steps are as follows:
    • Select one or multiple objects in the map to highlight the objects of interest, right-click, and select Statistics for Selected Objects from the menu.
    • Choose the type of diagram to create from the statistical list types to complete the creation of a diagram for the individually selected objects.
    • For example, to separately statistics the GDP of the five northwestern provinces within the national area, select the graphic objects of these five provinces in the map, and follow the above steps to create a comparison chart of the GDP from 2012 to 2014 in the northwestern region. The result is as follows:
