S-100 Property Settings

Feature Description

SuperMap iDesktopX provides an S100 attribute tab for setting display parameters of S-101, S-102, S-104, and S-111 data products in the current map. Select the corresponding product parameter group to view or modify the product's display method, vertex color, boundary visibility, and safety parameters.

Parameter groups are organized by S-100 product categories. After expanding a parameter group, click a parameter value to modify it. Check Apply Immediately to apply changes to the map window instantly, or uncheck it and then click Apply to apply all changes at once.

Feature Conditions

  • S-100 series data must be loaded in the map for the chart properties panel to display the corresponding product parameter groups.
  • Different products have different settable parameters; parameter values must comply with the corresponding S-100 product specifications and data valid range.

Version Information

SuperMap iDesktopX 2026 provides the S-100 product display property settings feature.

Feature Entry

  • Chart tab -> Nautical Chart Properties group -> Nautical Chart Properties button -> S100 Attribute tab.

Operation Instructions

  1. Load the S-100 series data to be browsed into the map.
  2. In the Chart tab, under the Nautical Chart Properties group, click the Nautical Chart Properties button to open the Nautical Chart Properties panel.
  3. In the chart properties panel, click the S100 Attribute tab. The panel will display S-101 Parameter Settings, S-102 Parameter Settings, S-104 Parameter Settings, and S-111 Parameter Settings by product.
  4. Expand the product parameter group to be set, click a parameter value, and enter or select a new parameter value. For parameter descriptions, refer to Parameter Description.
  5. Choose the application method as needed:
    • Apply Immediately: When checked, the display effects in the map are refreshed immediately upon parameter modification.
    • Apply: After unchecking Apply Immediately, complete the changes and click Apply to refresh the display effects in the map all at once.

Parameter Description

Parameter names in the panel are displayed in English. TRUE indicates enable or display, FALSE indicates disable or hide; DAY indicates daytime vertex color. Example values in the table below are interface examples and do not imply that all data must use these values.

S-101 Parameter Settings

Parameter Name Parameter Interpretation
DeepContour Sets the deep water contour parameter. Default is 30; specific values can be adjusted based on navigator needs.
SimplifiedSymbols Sets whether to use simplified symbols or traditional symbols. Default is FALSE, using traditional symbols.
ShowBounds Sets whether to display data bounds. Default is TRUE, showing data bounds.
ShallowWaterDangers Sets the display status of shallow water danger content. Default is TRUE, showing shallow water danger indicators.
ColorScheme

Sets the chart display vertex color, providing three modes:

  • DAY (Daytime): Default mode, suitable for daylight conditions, providing good visual effects.
  • DUSK (Twilight): Adapts to twilight light conditions to reduce visual fatigue.
  • NIGHT (Night): Optimizes visual experience in nighttime light conditions.
SafetyContour Sets the safety depth value, default is 30.
DisplayMode

Sets the display mode of S-101 data, providing three modes:

  • 1 (Standard): Default chart display content.
  • 2 (Base): Displays only non-removable base content.
  • 3 (Other): Default item. User-defined options content, such as depth points, meta objects, text, etc.
RadarOverlay Sets whether to display radar overlay effect. Default is FALSE, not displayed.
FourShades Sets the number of depth color display levels, providing Two shades (two shades) and Four shades (four colors).
IgnoreScamin Sets whether to ignore the SCAMIN minimum display scale limit.
ShallowContour Sets the shallow water contour value.
PlainBoundaries

Sets whether to use normal boundary display method.

  • TRUE (Normal Boundary): Default item, displays area boundaries in normal style.
  • FALSE (Boundary Symbology): Displays area boundaries in symbol form, more intuitive.
SafetyDepth Sets the safety depth value, default is 30. In ECDIS, the depth set by the navigator, such as the ship's draft plus under-keel clearance, and the ECDIS highlights depth markings less than or equal to this depth on the display.
FullLightLines Sets whether light lines are displayed in full.

S-102 Parameter Settings

Parameter Description
DeepContour Sets the deep water contour parameter. Default is 30; specific values can be adjusted based on navigator needs.
DisplaySunlight Sets whether to display a three-dimensional hillshade effect. Default is not displayed (FALSE). When set to TRUE, it simulates the actual surface shadows to display the terrain in a rugged state.
Azimuth Sets the azimuth of the light source for the sunlight effect, used to determine the direction of the light source. It is measured in degrees. Starting from true north at 0 degrees, measure clockwise from 0 to 360 degrees to assign angle values to each direction. Therefore, true north is 360 degrees. True east is 90 degrees, true south is 180 degrees, and true west is 270 degrees. The default azimuth is 315 degrees.
Contour Sets whether to display contour lines. Default is display (TRUE).
ShowBounds Sets whether to display data bounds. Default is display (TRUE).
FourShades Sets the number of depth color display levels, providing Two shades (two shades) and Four shades (four colors).
ShallowContour Sets the shallow water contour value.
ColorScheme

Sets the bathymetric surface vertex color, providing three modes:

  • DAY (Daytime): Default mode, suitable for daylight conditions, providing good visual effects.
  • DUSK (Twilight): Adapts to twilight light conditions to reduce visual fatigue.
  • NIGHT (Night): Optimizes visual experience in nighttime light conditions.
SafetyContour

Sets the safety depth value, default is 15.

Altitude Sets the altitude angle of the light source for sunlight effect. The height angle of the light source is the tilt angle of illumination, ranging from 0 to 90 degrees. When the height angle is 90 degrees, the light source shines directly on the surface. The default altitude angle is 45 degrees.

S-104 Parameter Settings

Parameter Description
ShowBounds Sets whether to display data bounds. Default is display (TRUE).

S-111 Parameter Settings

Parameter Description
S111Time Sets the display time of S-111 data. After setting, the system will symbolically display the S-111 in the map according to the current direction at the selected moment.
ShowBounds Sets whether to display data bounds. Default is display (TRUE).
Notes:
  • Parameter values affect the display effects of corresponding S-100 data in the current map, but do not modify the product content in the source data file.
  • When modifying numeric parameters, input valid values according to the unit and product specifications; invalid values may cause parameters to fail to apply or display effects to deviate from expectations.
  • S-111Time must match the time range of the current S-111 data; if no available time value exists, the parameter may be empty.
Tips:
  • The arrow on the left side of a parameter group is used to expand or collapse the parameter list. When the panel width is small, longer parameter names are displayed with ellipsis.
  • When multiple parameters need to be adjusted simultaneously, you can uncheck Apply Immediately, complete the settings, and then click Apply.
