Import DGN

Instructions for use

Import DGN function to import BIM data produced by Bentley MicroStation in *.dgn format and add Model Dataest node in Target Datasource. This feature requires Windows 10 and above for use in the Windows operating system architecture.

Function entrance

  • 3D Data tab-> Model group-> BIM drop-down menu-> Import DGN button
  • Toolbox -> 3D Data -> Data Import -> Import DGN
  • Workspace Manager -> Specify DatasourceContext Menu -> Import BIM Data pull-down menu-> DGN

Operation steps

  1. Select Target Datasource or Create Datasource in Workspace Manager and check.
  2. On the 3D Data tab, click the Import DGN button in the BIM drop-down menu in the Model group to bring up the Import DGN "dialog.
  3. Make Source Data Settings, Result Data Settings, Advanced Settings, Georeferencing Origin Settings, and Coordinate System Settings as needed. See the Import DGN tool page for specific parameters.
  4. When Parameter Settings is complete, click the Import button to execute. After completion, a Model Dataest node will be added under Target Datasource of Workspace Manager.
