"Properties" Tab

It is used to set the style of the graphs in a statistical thematic map. All settings in this tab are reflected in the current statistical thematic map in real time, i.e., WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get).

  1. Color Scheme: The "Color Scheme:" combo box drop-down list displays the color schemes provided by the system. Selecting a desired color scheme will automatically assign thematic styles corresponding to each rendering field value based on the chosen scheme. Users can click the drop-down button on the right side of the combo box and select a color scheme from the pop-up list. Each statistic field in the current statistical thematic map will then be assigned a different color according to the color variation pattern of the selected scheme.
  2. Graph Type: The system provides 11 types of graphs for users to choose from: Line Chart, Point Chart, Bar Chart, 3D Bar Chart, Pie Chart, 3D Pie Chart, Rose Chart, 3D Rose Chart, Stacked Bar Chart, 3D Stacked Bar Chart, Ring Chart. Users can click the drop-down button next to the "Graph Type:" item and select the desired graph type from the pop-up list.
  3. Statistical Value Resampling Methods: Used to determine the size of the statistical graph and the proportion of each thematic variable within it. The system provides three statistical value resampling methods: Constant, Logarithm, and Square Root. Fields containing negative values cannot use the Logarithm or Square Root resampling methods.
    • Constant: Performs grading calculations based on the linear scale of the original values in the attribute table.
    • Logarithm: Performs grading calculations based on the linear scale of the natural logarithm of the original values in the attribute table.
    • Square Root: Performs grading calculations based on the linear scale of the square root of the original values in the attribute table.
  4. Add or Remove Field: A statistical thematic map can express the values of one or more fields through diagrams. Users can use the "Add" and "Remove" buttons on the toolbar in the middle of the "Properties" tab to add or remove statistic fields for the current statistical thematic map. The current map will immediately re-map based on the modified thematic variables and refresh the display effects.
    • Add a Field: Click the drop-down button of the "Add" button on the toolbar. In the pop-up list of all fields from the thematic map layer (fields in this list are displayed as Field Alias by default; if needed, you can switch to field names in the File tab -> Options group. For details, refer to the Preferences document), click the checkbox in front of the statistic field you want to add. Alternatively, click the "Expression..." item in the field list to construct a field expression in the popped-up SQL Expression dialog box, which will serve as the statistic field for the statistical thematic map.
    • Remove Field: In the statistic field list at the bottom of the "Properties" tab, select one or more statistic fields you wish to remove, and then click the "Remove" button on the toolbar to remove the unwanted fields.
  5. Move Field Up or Down: Users can use the four field movement buttons on the toolbar in the middle of the "Properties" tab to change the position of the selected field(s) in the list box. The position of a field in the list box affects its position in the created statistical thematic map.
    • Move to Top button: Moves the selected field(s) to the top of the field list.
    • Move Up button: Moves the selected field(s) up by one position.
    • Move Down button: Moves the selected field(s) down by one position.
    • Move to Bottom button: Moves the selected field(s) to the bottom of the field list.
  6. Graph Styles: Use the style buttons on the toolbar in the middle of the "Properties" tab, or click the style button for each field in the field list, to set the style of the statistical graphs.
    • "Fill Style" button: Select one or more fields in the statistic field list, click this button to uniformly set the fill style for the selected fields (you can hold the Shift key to select multiple fields) in the popped-up "Style" window (for specific operations, see: Set Fill Marker Style). Users can also directly click the "Fill Style" item for the corresponding field in the field list and modify the graph style for that field in the popped-up "Style" window.
    • When needing to modify the style of multiple thematic map items, you can hold the Shift key to select the items whose style you want to modify, then click the "Style" setting button on the toolbar. The "Change Style" dialog box will pop up, where you can select the items to modify and perform batch modifications. For specific operations, see: Change Style.

Notes

When the graph type is "Area Chart" or "Step Chart", only the color of the first segment in the selected color scheme is supported.
