Select Template
Feature Description
If you need to directly draw maps or update data based on an existing template, you can use the Select Template function. This function supports selecting templates that already exist in the current workspace or local *.xmlmap template files as editing templates.
Function Entry
- Edit Data tab -> Basic editing group -> Template editing dropdown item -> Select Template.
- Map tab -> Template editing group -> Template editing dropdown item -> Select Template.
Operation Steps
- Open the Select Template dialog box through any of the above function entries.
- In the popped-up Select Template dialog box, set the parameters:
- Editing Template: In the editing template input box dropdown options, you can select templates existing in the current workspace. For template import and export, please refer to the Template Manager document. In addition, you can click the file button behind the input box to select editing templates stored locally.
- Reassign Datasource: After selecting the template, the program will automatically match data sources with the same name in this workspace based on the template information. If the data sources have different names, you can manually modify them.
- In the reassign datasource list, the Source Datasource column displays the datasource name used in the template, and the Specify Datasource column displays the data sources in the current workspace. Here, you can reassign the datasource through the dropdown options in the cells.
- The toolbar above the table provides Select All, Select Reverse, and Uniform Settings buttons. You can batch select table records and then click the Uniform Settings button to uniformly specify the datasource for the selected records.
- After completing the settings, click the OK button. A new map will be generated based on the selected template and specified data sources and opened in the map window. At the same time, the Template Editing panel will be popped up. The related operations in the panel are consistent with those in Template Editing.
Notes:If the datasets in the specified datasource do not match the datasets in the template, the layers that do not match the data sets in the map will not be created successfully. The output window will list the unmatched layers.
