Management Template

Feature Description

The management template is used to manage individual templates, including modifying marker styles and attributes of different categories within the template, as well as adding or removing categories from layers.

Feature Entry

  • Template Editing Panel->Manage drop-down button->Management Template.
  • Template Manager dialog box->Modify Template button.

Steps

  1. Template: Displays the template name, defaulting to the associated map name.
  2. Template Manager button: Click this button to open the Template Manager dialog box, where you can rename, delete, or export templates.
  3. Layer: The layer list displays all layers contained in the template. Clicking a layer will display its categories in the right panel.
  4. Add button: Adds new categories to the selected layer. Clicking opens the Template Properties dialog box. After configuring parameters, click OK to add a category.
  5. Delete button: Select one or multiple records in the right panel and click Delete to remove them. The delete dropdown menu also provides options: Delete All Categories in This Layer and Delete All Categories in This Map. The former removes all categories from the selected layer, while the latter clears all layers in the current template.
  6. Properties button: Select a category and click this button to open the Properties dialog box, where you can modify category name, labels, and style settings.
    • Name: Displays and allows editing of the category name.
    • Label: Enter descriptive labels (typically keywords or identifiers) for category retrieval and grouping.
    • Object Type: Shows the geometry type of the category.
    • Target Layer: Displays the parent layer of the category.
    • Marker Style: Configures marker styles. Click the setting button to open the style selector. Note: Normal layer categories do not support marker style configuration.
    • Attributes: Sets category attributes. Newly created objects will inherit these properties. For unique value thematic map categories, the single value expression field will be auto-populated.
      Notes:

      When adding categories to unique value thematic map layers, the unique value field in attributes must be specified for successful creation.
