The 'Properties' tab in the 'Unique Value Thematic Map' window is primarily used to set display parameters for single-value objects in the current unique value thematic map.
When creating unique value thematic maps based on polygon layers, line layers, or point layers, the content displayed in the Thematic Map Properties window varies slightly.
- Expression: Used to display and set the thematic variable of the current unique value thematic map, that is, a property field or mathematical expression of property fields of the current layer.
- Click the drop-down button on the right of the 'Expression:' combo box; the drop-down list displays all property fields of the current vector dataset.
- In the drop-down list, select the thematic variable (a single property field) for the current unique value thematic map layer; users can also click the 'Expression...' item in the drop-down list to open the 'SQL Expression' dialog box and construct a field expression as the thematic variable for the unique value thematic map.
- Reset Unique Value after Expression Changed: Check this box to automatically reset unique values after changing the expression; the current unique value thematic map will immediately re-render based on the modified thematic variable and refresh display effects.
- Point Layer Thematic Map Properties Support "Custom Expression": Supports setting the marker size and rotation angle for point objects, allows manual input of specific values, and also supports selecting a specific property field from the attribute table to set the effect.
Note:When creating thematic maps for data with Oracle Plus or SQL Plus engine types, the field expression can only be a field value or a field operation expression, such as (SmID) or (SmID + 1). Conditional expressions are currently not supported for setting thematic map fields. If the set field expression is a conditional expression, such as: "SmID > 100", the thematic map creation will fail, and the output window will display "Thematic map update failed".
- Custom Expression: Customizes thematic map styles based on field value information; point datasets support setting marker style, color, size, and rotation angle; line datasets support setting line style, color, and width; region datasets support setting fill style, foreground color, background color, and transparency.
- Color: The "Color Scheme:" combo box is used to display and set the color style of the current unique value thematic map.
- Click the drop-down button on the right of the "Color Scheme:" combo box; in the drop-down list, select a color scheme to assign different colors to each thematic value in the current unique value thematic map based on the selected scheme.
- Visibility Settings:
- Click the visibility icon button in the toolbar in the middle of the "Unique Value Thematic Map" window to control the visibility of the maps corresponding to all selected thematic value items in the thematic value list.
- Click the visibility icon for each thematic value item to control the visibility of the map corresponding to that thematic value item.
- Symbol Style Settings: The styles button in the toolbar in the middle of the "Unique Value Thematic Map" window can be used to set the style of selected thematic value items in the thematic value list; users can also click the marker style icon for each thematic value item to open the "Styles" window and set the style of the map corresponding to the thematic value. The functionality of the symbol style settings button varies depending on the type of vector dataset used to create the unique value thematic map.
- The "Symbols" button is used to set the fill style for polygon objects corresponding to all selected thematic values in the current unique value thematic map. Click this button, or click the polygon marker style icon for each thematic value item, to open the "Styles" window (specific operations can be referred to in Fill Symbol Style Settings), where users can set the fill style for polygon objects corresponding to selected thematic values.
- The "Line Symbol" button is used to set the line style for line objects corresponding to all selected thematic values in the current unique value thematic map. Click this button, or the line marker style icon for each thematic value item, to open the "Styles" window (specific operations can be referred to in Line Symbol Style Settings), where users can set the marker style for line objects corresponding to selected thematic values.
- When modifying the styles of multiple thematic map subitems, hold the Shift key to select the subitems to modify, then click the "Style" setting button in the toolbar; the "Change Style" dialog box will open, where you can select items to modify and perform batch modifications. For specific operations, refer to: Change Style.
- Add or Delete Thematic Values:
- The add button is used to manage thematic values in the thematic map. Click the add button to open the thematic value management interface, where you can add or delete thematic values, or add new thematic values in the dialog below. After adding thematic values, the thematic value list will update accordingly.
- The delete button is used to delete all selected thematic value items in the thematic value list. Select the thematic values to delete in the list, click the delete button in the toolbar, and the selected items will be deleted. After deletion, objects corresponding to the deleted thematic values will be displayed using the default style.
- Subitem Sorting and Reverse Color Scheme:
- Select a single-value subitem and click the move up button to move the subitem of the unique value thematic map upward.
- Select a single-value subitem and click the move down button to move the subitem downward.
- Click the ascending button to sort all subitems of the unique value thematic map in ascending order based on subitem values.
- Click the descending button to sort all subitems in descending order.
Note: Supports selecting multiple single-value subitems for batch movement; hold the Shift key to select multiple single values, then continue holding the Shift key to perform batch movement. If the Shift key is released before moving, batch movement will not work. After moving, the program will automatically save the new order of single-value subitems.
- Click the reverse button to adjust the colors in reverse order, rearranging the positions of colors in the color scheme to form a new color table.
- Save Color Scheme to Color Scheme Manager: Click the save color scheme to color scheme manager button to open the "Save Color Scheme to Color Scheme Manager" dialog box; you can save the modified color scheme to the color management library for reuse in other mapping tasks.
- Subitem Positioning: Select one or more thematic map subitems in the thematic map subitem list, right-click, and choose the "Position" option to highlight the corresponding objects on the map. If the positioned objects are within the current map's visible bounds, they will be highlighted directly; if not, the map scale will be maintained, and the display will center on the positioned objects. Note: When using the thematic map subitem positioning function, ensure the layer is set to selectable.
- Group: Select multiple subitems in the thematic map subitem list, right-click, and choose the Merge Groups option to merge multiple subitems into one group, allowing unified management of the group's display style and visibility. Similarly, use the Split Group function in the context menu to split the group back into individual subitems.
- In the thematic value list, besides setting visibility and marker style for single-value items, you can also set the value and title for thematic map subitems. Specific explanations are as follows:
- Single Value: Used to display and modify the single value of a subitem; you can directly edit it in the "Single Value" column cell. If the modified value already exists, the setting is invalid, and the original value is restored.
- Title: Used to display and modify the title of a subitem; you can directly edit it in the "Title" column cell.
Note:- The unique value thematic maps you create and modify can be saved as templates for application to thematic map creation in other layers. For details on saving as thematic map templates, refer to: Save to Thematic Map Template Library.
- When creating thematic maps using templates, users can directly select saved templates from the drop-down menu under the "Template" drop-down button to apply them to other thematic map creations.
- The "Default Style" for unique value thematic subitems is used to display the style of unadded items in the thematic value list.
- If the thematic value of a single-value subitem contains spaces at the beginning, end, or middle, the spaces are considered valid characters. For example: "thematic value" and "thematic value " (with a trailing space) are treated as two different thematic values.
- Stretching functionality in thematic map subitem extensions is not supported for generating cache.
