MapGIS Data Migration Overview

MapGIS Data Migration refers to the migration of data and Map made in MapGIS to SuperMap format, which can be updated and edited in SuperMap.

MapGIS mainly includes two data formats of MapGIS 6X and MapGIS 10:

  • The data format of MapGIS 6X is divided into plain code data and single file data. Plain code data is *.wat, *.wal, *.wap, single file data is *.wt, * WL, *.wp, and map file format is *.mpj.
  • The data of MapGIS 10 is distinguished by Pnt, Lin, Reg, and Ann, and is saved in the MapGIS database (*.hdb, *.hbf) in the form of feature class, annotation class, etc. The map file format is *.mapx.

Data Migration

Migrate the data files in MapGIS, including database files and 6XData, to SuperMap. The migration scheme is shown in the following figure:

Map Migration

Map Migration is to migrate project files (*.mpj) and map documents (*.mapx) in MapGIS to SuperMapWorkspace, including symbols, thematic maps and layouts used in maps. The migration scheme is shown in the following figure:
