Creating Custom Thematic Maps Based on Template

Introduction

The items on the right list except Default, are used to create a 3D custom thematic map for a vector dataset using the existing templates.

Basic Steps

  1. Sets the 3D vector dataset layer to be created a 3D custom thematic map (except the 3D text dataset layer) as the current layer.
  2. Figure: The drop-down button of the 3D custom thematic map templates
  3. On Scenes tab, click the Thematic Mapping button in the Data group.
  4. Select a thematic map template on the right of Create Thematic Map, and then the style of the template will be applied on the new 3D custom thematic map.
  5. The created 3D custom thematic map is automatically added into the current scene as a thematic layer. Simultaneously the General Layers node of the Layer Manager window increases a subnode which is corresponding to the created thematic map.
  6. The custom thematic map templates will be displayed on right of Create Thematic Map, which can be managed by the Templates Manager. Please see "Templates Manager".

Note

Currently the system doesn't support the custom thematic map templates. Users can create a new custom thematic map and then save it as a template for the future use.

After finish creating custom thematic map, then the Custom Map window opens. The window shows the settings of the current thematic map, and users can modify these settings. Hence, users can modify the custom thematic map based on the template so as to get a more ideal 3D map.
