Add Text

After creating a map dashboard, you can add a series of dashboard elements. The supportive elements include maps, diagrams, text, information boards, divider lines, pictures, local videos, online videos, and streaming videos. The following content introduces the ways of adding elements and parameter settings.

Text

Text can be shown vertically and horizontally, dynamically and statically.

  • Add text: in Ribbon, click Dash Board > Horizontal Text or Vertical Text to add a text element in the dashboard.
  • Position: the position and size of a text element are adjustable. For specific parameter description, please refer to Common Parameters.
  • Border: you can set the colors and effects of text borders. For specific parameter description, please refer to Common Parameter.
  • Text:

    Dynamic content: you need to set the associated real-time streaming data.

    • Real-time Stream Data: click the drop-down button and select the accessed streaming data.
    • Statistic Field: select fields that you want to count. Please notice that the selected fields must be numeric.
    • Statistic Mode: specify the statistic mode. The application provides multiple statistic modes including: Max, Min, Mean, Sum, Standard Deviation, and Variance.

    Statistic content: In the Properties area, enter text directly on the Text area.

  • Text styles
    • Font: set the text font.
    • Font Size: set the font size. The default value is 30.
    • Text Style: set the display style of text. The supported styles include normal, bold, and italic.
    • Horizontal Alignment: set the alignment of text in the horizontal direction. The application provides three ways: left, center, and right.
    • Vertical Alignment: set the alignment of text in the vertical direction. The application provides three ways: up, center, and down.
    • Text Color: click the color control to set the text color.
    • Background Color: set the background color of text borders. You can check Transparency to set the text background transparent.
    • Background Image: set a picture as the text background image. You can specify a local picture in the format of *.jpg, *.png, or *.gif.
