View Mosaic Dataset Properties

In the Image Panel -> Other Datasource -> Selected Datasource, right-click a mosaic dataset and choose Properties from the context menu to open the Dataset Attribute panel. This panel allows viewing and modifying basic information, coordinate system details, and no-value settings of the mosaic dataset.

Dataset

Click the Dataset tab to view basic information, dataset bounds, and detailed descriptions.

Basic Info

  • Name: Displays the dataset name.
  • Type: Shows dataset type (e.g., Point for point datasets, Line for line datasets).
  • Table Name: Displays the attribute table name.
  • Encode: Shows the compression encode type used for storage.

Dataset Bounds

Top and Bottom represent maximum/minimum Y-axis values; Left and Right represent minimum/maximum X-axis values. Units match the dataset's coordinate system.

  • Update: Adjusts vector dataset bounds based on spatial object positions.
  • Copy and Paste: Use Copy to copy current bounds, or Paste to apply clipboard-stored bounds.

Dataset Description

View and edit metadata descriptions to understand data content, sources, and usage.

Coordinate System

Click the Coordinate System tab to view spatial reference details.

  • Coordinate System: Shows the coordinate system of the vector dataset.
  • Unit: Displays coordinate measurement units.
  • Coordinate System Info: Provides detailed coordinate system description.

For coordinate system toolbar functions, see Map Properties - Coordinate System.

Mosaic

Click the Mosaic tab to view basic properties and no-value settings.

Basic Info

  • Band Count: Number of bands in mosaic dataset images.
  • Pixel Format: Pixel storage format of image files.
  • Width: Total display width when all images are overlaid.
  • Height: Total display height when all images are overlaid.

No Value

Modify no-value settings through these methods. See Mosaic Dataset No-Value Guide for usage:

  • Uniform Settings: Select bands in the table and click Uniform Settings to apply consistent no-values.
  • Update: Click Update to calculate no-values from the first image.
  • Manual Edit: Modify no-values individually per band in the table.

After setting mosaic dataset no-values, images without no-value info won't use dataset defaults. Configure via:

  • Replace Missing No-Value: When checked (default: off), images without no-values use dataset settings. Existing no-values remain unchanged.
  • Replaces All Images With No Value: Available only when above is checked. Forces all images to use dataset no-values.
Notes:
  • Applied no-value changes cannot be reverted via reset button.
  • Checkbox settings require clicking Apply to take effect.
