When the Dataset Attribute Panel displays information for one or more raster datasets, the Properties panel contains three sections: Dataset, Coordinate System, and Raster. Each section displays corresponding information. Details of each section are as follows:
Dataset
Click the Dataset item in the Properties panel to view attributes of the raster dataset.
Basic Info
- Name: Displays the name of the dataset.
- Type: Shows the dataset type. For example, a point dataset displays Point, while a line dataset shows Line.
- Table Name: Displays the name of the dataset's attribute table.
- Encode: Shows the compression encode type used for dataset storage.
Dataset Bounds
The Top and Bottom values in dataset bounds represent the maximum and minimum values along the Y-axis, while Left and Right represent the minimum and maximum values along the X-axis. Units match the dataset's coordinate system.
- Update: Recomputes the dataset range based on object locations.
- Copy and Paste: Click Copy to copy current dataset bounds, or click Paste to apply clipboard bounds info to the current range.
Dataset Description
Allows viewing and editing metadata descriptions to help users understand data content, sources, and purposes.
Coordinate System
Click the Coordinate System item in the Properties panel to view coordinate system information.
- Coordinate System: Displays the dataset's coordinate system.
- Unit: Shows coordinate system units.
- Coordinate System Info: Provides detailed coordinate system description.
For coordinate system toolbar functions, refer to Map Properties - Coordinate System.
Raster
Click the Raster item in the Properties panel to view raster dataset information.
Image Properties
- Pixel Format: Shows pixel storage format (bytes per pixel).
- X Resolution: Displays dataset resolution along the X-axis.
- Y Resolution: Displays dataset resolution along the Y-axis.
- NoData Value: Shows raster value for cells without data.
- Rows: Displays number of rows in the pixel array.
- Columns: Displays number of columns in the pixel array.
- Color: Sets display color for dataset pixels. Requires reloading dataset to view changes. Modifies the raster dataset's color table. For display effect adjustments in maps, see Set Raster Layer Properties.
- Raster Tiling: Shows raster tile size (e.g., 256*256 indicates 256x256 pixels stored as one tile for processing).
Extremum
- Maximum: Shows maximum raster value in the dataset.
- Minimum: Shows minimum raster value in the dataset.
Statistics Information
The statistics list displays pixel information including maximum, minimum, variance, and mode.
To ensure accurate statistics, use the Calculate button at bottom-right to perform statistical computations.
Others
- Pyramid: Indicates whether pyramids have been built.
- Histogram: Shows histogram status. Click Browse to view existing histograms or Create to generate new ones.
- Visible Bounds: Sets dataset's display extent in maps. Click Settings to select a region dataset's bounds as visible extent.
