Using Layer Style Template

Instructions for use

Supports saving the display style (uniform style) of objects in a vector layer as a template, or loading a locally stored template file to set the layer style. Additionally, templates can be uploaded to SuperMap Online for other users to download and use.

This feature is highly suitable for scenarios requiring repeated setup of the same layer style, significantly improving mapping efficiency.

Function Entry

  • Layer Manager->Context menu of vector layer->Layer Style Template.

Operation Steps

Failed to load layer Style template

The failed to load layer style template function is used to display the vector layer using the loaded style templates, while also importing non-system symbols used by the layer.

  1. Right-click on a vector layer node in the Layer Manager, and select the Load… option in the Layer Style Template context menu;
  2. The Load Template dialog box pops up. Select the style templates file (*.xml) to load, and click the Open button in the dialog box;
  3. The application displays the vector layer based on the style templates.

Output Layer Style Template

The output layer style template function is used to export the style of the vector layer as a template, facilitating the application of this layer's style to other vector layers.

A style template is essentially an *.xml file that records style information. During export, non-system symbols used by the layer are also exported.

  1. Right-click on a vector layer node in the Layer Manager, and select the Export… option in the Layer Style Template context menu;
  2. The Save as Template dialog box pops up. Select the save location for the template file (*.xml) and the file name for the style templates, then click the Save button in the dialog box.

Upload Layer Style Template

The upload layer style template function is used to upload vector layer style templates to SuperMap Online for other users to download and use.

  1. Right-click on a vector layer node in the Layer Manager, and select the Share… option in the Layer Style Template context menu.
  2. In the popped-up Upload Layer Style Template dialog, set the following parameters:
    • Currently Open: Displays the name of the datasource currently to be uploaded.

    • Local Data: Supports checking the Local Data checkbox to select a locally stored datasource.

    • Name: Set the display name of the template after uploading.

    • Icon: Click the icon to select a picture file as the workspace icon in the Open dialog box. When accessing the SuperMap Online server address in a browser, it will be displayed on the details page of the data. Supported image formats include: *.png, *.jpg, *.jpeg, *.bmp.

    • Classification: Classify the shared data to facilitate quick search in online data. The default here is Layer Style Template.

    • Label: Enter labels for the template to facilitate data search and grouping. Multiple labels should be separated by semicolons.

    • Detail Description: Enter a description of the layer template in this text box to help other users quickly understand relevant information about the template.

    • Upload Address: Set the server address for datasource upload. The SuperMap Online address is displayed in the dropdown list; click the dropdown button to select it.

    • Upload Directory: Click the button on the right to select or create a directory for storing the template after upload in the pop-up Select dialog. The Select dialog supports operations like going back to the parent directory, renaming, creating a new directory, deleting, etc., similar to a catalog manager.

    • Public Object: Supports setting the audience for sharing the map, allowing you to set whether the map is visible to anyone.

  3. After setting the above parameters, click the Share button to upload the workspace and its maps to SuperMap Online. During the upload, you can view the progress in the Task Manager panel.
