Map Layer Management

Copy and Paste Layers

When configuring a map, you can copy layers in the map and paste the copied layer into the current map or other maps. The pasted layer retains the original layer's style and layer properties to improve mapping efficiency. The specific support details are as follows:

  • Supports copy and paste across different maps;
  • Supports copy and paste across different workspaces;
  • Supports copy and paste for normal layers and thematic map layers;
  • Layer copy and paste supports keyboard operations Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V, as well as right-click context menu operations Copy and Insert Copied Layer;

Operation Instructions

  1. Select the layer to be copied in the layer manager, such as "Point@test";
  2. Copy the layer using the shortcut key Ctrl+C or the Copy button in the context menu;
  3. Select the location where the layer needs to be placed in the current desktop program or another desktop program, and use Ctrl+V or the Insert Copied Layer button in the context menu to paste the layer.
 Tip:

The pasted layer will appear above the layer selected in step 3. For example, if "Line@test" is selected in step 3, "Point@test" will appear above "Line@test".

Remove the Layer

Removes the selected layer from the layer manager and the map. There are two ways to remove the layer:

  • Method 1: Right-click the layer in the layer manager, and select Remove in the context menu;
  • Method 2: Select the layer in the layer manager and press the Delete key to remove the layer.

Rename Layer

Used to modify the name of a layer. Two methods are provided:

  • Method 1: Select Rename in the context menu of the layer whose name needs to be changed. The layer name becomes editable, allowing you to enter a new name to modify the layer's title. Press Enter or click elsewhere to complete the rename.
  • Method 2: Select the layer in the layer manager and press the F2 key to quickly activate the editable state of the layer name. After entering a new name, press Enter or click elsewhere to complete the rename.

Locate Dataset for Layer

Supports locating the dataset associated with the selected layer. When there are many layers in the map, you can use this function to quickly locate the associated dataset.

In the layer manager, select the layer for which you want to locate the dataset, and choose the Locate Dataset option in the context menu. The Workspace Manager will then highlight the dataset associated with the layer.
