Marker Symbol Selector Interface

The following figure shows the interface layout of the Marker Symbol Selector:

  • Menu: Functions related to managing Marker Symbol Library are organized in the menu, including import, export, and create/Delete Group of symbol files.
  • Search: Symbol search can search for symbols that meet specific conditions in the current symbol library. The search is also based on the symbol name and symbol number. The search will be based on the text or number input by the user. These text and number will be used as matching keywords to search for symbols whose Symbol Name and symbol number match the keywords input by the user. And the search scope is the entire symbol library. After the search is completed, all symbols in the symbol library that meet the search conditions will be displayed in the symbol list.
  • Find symbol: Use Ctrl + F to find the specified symbol in the current symbol list. The search will be based on the symbol name and symbol number, and will use the text or number entered by the user as the matching keyword to find the symbol whose Symbol Name and symbol number match the keyword entered by the user (the search range is the current symbol group). Only the symbols meeting the conditions in the current symbol group are displayed in the current symbol list, and other symbols are filtered out and not displayed.

    The search function will search and display in real time according to the input value, that is, when the content in the search box changes, a search operation will be executed. After searching, if you want to redisplay all symbols in the current symbol group in the symbol list, you only need to clear the text content in the search box or close the search box.

  • Customize Display Method: The Display Method button is used to set the way to display the symbols in the symbol list, including displaying the symbols as large icons and displaying the symbols as Details.
  • Symbol Grouping Structure Tree: The Grouping Structure button lets you show or hide the symbol grouping structure tree. In the symbol grouping structure tree, select a symbol grouping to display the symbol content under the symbol grouping in the symbol list; the symbol grouping structure tree is also the place to manage the grouping structure of the symbol library.   • Point symbol list: The point symbol list is used to display all point symbols in the current symbol group.
  • Symbol Style Settings area: The area for making Style Settings for point symbols, including point Marker Size, color, angle, and other effects. Please refer to Set Point Marker Style for specific setting contents and methods.
  • Preview area: Preview the current Style Settings for the symbol.
