Add objects to the KML layer
Instructions for use
When KML Layer is editable, add landmarks, models and animation models at the specified location through the Add operation in the Context Menu of the layer or the Object Drawing tab, or select Picture File as Surface Mapping. Add to Scene.
In KML Layer, you can also add "groups" first to manage the added landmarks, models, and other objects in a grouped manner.

- Object Drawing tab-> 3D Object / Particle Object/Model Object/Urban Landscape Facilities / Bulletin Board Group
Operation steps
Add " group":
- Set the selected KML Layer to be editable. Select " Add" -- > " Group" in the Context Menu to create an object group.
- Select the added group in Layer Manager, and select the Add command in its Context Menu to continue to create a sub-group. Or add a "landmark," Static Model "," Trajectory Model "," Surface Mapping ".
Add " Landmark":
- Set the selected KML Layer to be editable. Select "Add" -- > "Landmark" in the Context Menu. When the mouse status turns into a red dot, the landmark file can be added at the specified position in the Scene.
- Select the added landmark object in Layer Manager, and select the Attribute command in its Context Menu to pop up the KML Properties "dialog box, where you can set the object name, location, camera and other parameters of the landmark object, and add the description of the landmark object. Add " Static Model":
- Set the selected KML Layer to be editable, and select Add -- > Static Models.. "From the Context Menu to pop up the Open 3D Model File" dialog box, and select Model File. After opening, the mouse status changes to
Add Model file at the specified location in Scene. Model File formats supported for addition are: *.fbx, *.3ds, *.obj, *.dae, *.x, *.osgb, *.stl, *.off, *.gltf, *.glb, *.s3mb, *.osg, *.s3m.
- In Layer Manager, select the added Model Object, and in its Context Menu, select the Attribute command to pop up the KML Properties "dialog box, where you can set parameters such as the object name, location, and camera of the Model Object. It also supports adding description to Model Object and setting the color and transparency of Model. For an introduction to the Static Model ", see Adding a Static Model.
Add " Trajectory Model":
- Set the selected KML Layer to be editable, and select "Add" -- > "Track Models.." "In the Context Menu to pop up the" Open 3D Model File "" dialog box. Because the model has a motion trajectory, you need to draw a trajectory in the scene to dynamically demonstrate the process of the model moving along the specified trajectory after selecting the Model File to open. Supported Model File formats are: *.fbx, *.3ds, *.obj, *.dae, *.x, *.osgb, *.stl, *.off, *.gltf, *.glb, *.s3mb, *.osg, *.s3m.
- Select the added Model Object in Layer Manager, and select the Attribute command in its Context Menu to pop up the KML Properties "dialog box, where you can set the object name, position, camera and other parameters of the animation Model Object. It also supports adding description to the animation model, setting the color and transparency of the Model, and managing its motion trajectory. Add Particle Object:
- Set the selected KML Layer to be editable. Under the Object Drawing "Particle Object", select a 3D particle resource file, and the system will automatically Add to Current scene the center of the window.
- Select the added particles in Layer Manager, and you can directly scale, move, and rotate them in Scene. For details on adding Particle Objects to KML, see: Adding Particle Objects.
Add " Surface Mapping":
- Set the selected KML Layer to be editable, select "Add" -- > "Surface Mapping.." "From the Context Menu to pop up the Picture File" dialog box, and select an image. The system automatically Add to Current scene the center of the window. Supported image formats are: *.png, *.jpg, *.jpeg, *.bmp, *.gif.
- Select the added Surface Mapping in Layer Manager, and you can directly zoom, move and rotate it in Scene, or select the Properties command in its Context Menu to pop up the KML Properties "dialog box. Modify the object name of Surface Mapping, change its height mode, and add a description. For an introduction to the KML Properties ", see: Viewing and Editing the Properties of a KML Object.

- Currently, 3D Scene Rendering Engine V2 does not support adding Trajectory Models, models with node animation or skeletal animation, and billboards to the KML Layer.
