Basic Parameters

The basic module of the layer properties panel organizes the basic parameters for controlling S3M tile display in the 3D Tile group. The specific parameters are described as follows:

  • S3M Version: Displays the version number of the S3M tile data in the current 3D tile layer, including S3M 1.0, S3M 2.0, S3M 3.0, S3M 3.01.
  • LOD Scale Factor (Times): Sets the scale factor for the switching distance between different levels of model tile LOD.
  • Loading Mode: Sets the loading mode for the current layer, including Load All Pyramid Levels and Load Current Pyramid Level.
  • Loading Priority: Sets the data loading priority for the current layer, including Depth First, Layer First, and Depth Nonlinear Switch.
    • Depth First: Prioritizes loading all slices of all pyramids within the current view range.
    • Layer First: Prioritizes loading all slices of the current pyramid level.
    • Depth Nonlinear Switch: Prioritizes loading all slices of all pyramids within the current view range, with only coarser data loaded for areas farther from the camera.
  • Display Mode: Sets the display mode for 3D tiles generated from oblique photogrammetry 3D models, white models, BIM, and fine models.
    • Blend Mode: Multiplies and blends vertex colors with textures.
    • Grayscale Mode: Shows only grayscale textures, ignoring vertex colors.
    • Solid Color Mode: Ignores vertex colors and texture colors, showing only the fill color, white by default.
    • Unblended Mode: Shows textures when data has textures, otherwise shows vertex colors.
    • Color Mode: Shows only vertex colors, ignoring textures.
  • Max/Min Visible Distance: Sets the threshold for display based on the spatial distance between the camera and data. Data will not be displayed beyond the set threshold.
  • Rotation Angle (X,Y,Z) (Degrees): Sets the counterclockwise rotation angles along the X/Y/Z axes respectively.
  • Transparent Filter Selection: Sets the transparent filter selection threshold to control object display. This parameter is for model tiles, filtering out objects below the threshold value during selection.
  • Rendering Mode: Sets the object rendering mode, including Both Sides, Clockwise, and Counterclockwise.
    • Both Sides: Renders both the front and back faces of the object from the current view.
    • Clockwise: Renders faces where the vertex order is clockwise from the current view.
    • Counterclockwise: Renders faces where the vertex order is counterclockwise from the current view.
  • Wireframe Mode: Applicable only to tiles generated from model, BIM, and other data. Sets the wireframe type for tile display, including Triangle, Quad, and Sketch modes. See Model Display Mode for details.
  • Brightness/Contrast/Hue/Saturation/Gamma: Sets the brightness, contrast, hue, saturation, and gamma values for layer display. Adjust by directly entering values or using the arrows next to the parameters.

Hypsometric Tinting

The "Hypsometric Tinting" module in the layer properties panel integrates parameters for hypsometric tinting display of S3M tiles, water surface effect settings, and dynamic simulation adjustments. The details are as follows:

  • Hypsometric Tinting: Expresses and differentiates data features through color order or shade depth.
  • Water Surface Effect: When checked, sets water surface effects for S3M tiles generated from polygon data or multi-temporal flow field data. Related parameters include:
    • Water Surface Color: Sets the water surface color and transparency through the color panel.
    • Water Surface Flow Direction: Sets the overall flow direction angle for the water surface (in degrees), default value is 180°. The angle starts from 0° at true north and increases clockwise.
    • Flow Direction Field: Selects the attribute field in S3M tile data that records the flow direction at water surface points, e.g., mesh0_uv.
    • Flow Direction Display Mode: After selecting the flow direction field, sets the flow direction display mode.
      • Do Not Display: Displays water flow direction in the default manner.
      • Arrow: Displays water flow direction as arrows, each point shows its calculated flow direction.
    • Arrow Color: After setting the flow direction display mode to Arrow, selects the color mapping scheme for arrows.
    • Arrow Size: After setting the flow direction display mode to Arrow, sets the arrow size in meters, default value is 20.
    • Wave Noise Intensity: Sets the noise intensity of water surface waves, i.e., the randomness degree of waves, used to control the wave disturbance effect. Default value is 1.8, range [0.01,5.0]. The closer to 0, the smoother the water surface with orderly waves; larger values cause more disturbance and chaotic water surface.
    • Primary Wave Wavelength: Sets the wavelength scale of the primary water wave, controlling the density of main waves (horizontal distance from crest to crest). Default value is 40, range [0.001,500.0]. Smaller values result in dense, frequent waves like pond ripples; larger values produce broad, gentle waves like ocean swells.
    • Reflected Wave Wavelength: Sets the wavelength scale of reflected water surface waves, controlling the scale of secondary ripples superimposed on the primary wave. Default value is 6, range [0.001,500.0]. This parameter simulates water retreat, ripples, or other surface details. Smaller values create finer, more detailed secondary ripples; larger values produce broader, less detailed ripples.
    • Whitecap Maximum Depth: Sets the maximum water depth for generating whitecap effects, range [0.0, 20.0]. White foam forms only where water depth is less than this value, at wave crests or shores. Smaller values produce sparse foam limited to small edges; larger values expand foam area, even in deep water.
    • Whitecap Scale Factor: Sets the scale factor for whitecap effects, default value is 20, range [0.0001, 500.0]. Smaller values produce denser, grainier foam like beer foam; larger values produce sparser, chunkier foam like floating ice or large spray.
  • Dynamic Simulation: Configures the dynamic display of deformation, water depth, and other properties of 3D tiles over time. Related parameters include:
    • Displacement Field: Selects the attribute field from the dropdown list that represents data displacement change.
    • Exaggeration Coefficient: Sets the exaggeration coefficient for displacement change, default value is 1, larger values make changes more obvious.
    • Total Sequence Count: Displays the total number of sequence frames for attribute changes in multi-temporal S3M tiles.
    • Current Position: Displays the current sequence position of the multi-temporal S3M tile.
    • Total Time: Sets the total playback time for attribute changes of multi-temporal S3M tiles, in seconds.
    • Loop Playback: When checked, the attribute change effect loops.
    • Playback Control: Controls the playback and pause of attribute sequence changes via "Start" and "Stop" buttons.

Point Cloud Grouping and Classification

The Point Cloud Grouping and Classification module in the layer properties panel organizes parameters for displaying and managing grouping and classification information of point cloud tile data. The specific parameters are described as follows:

  • Point Cloud Group Information: Displays the grouping information in the point cloud tile. Use the display checkbox before the group name to show or hide the corresponding group data. By default, all groups of point cloud data are displayed.
  • Point Cloud Classification Information: Displays the classification categories in the point cloud tile, e.g., 2, 5, 7.
