Rendering objects in a scene with maps increases the realism of the scene. The Texture Settings button in the Extrude Settings group of the Style Settings tab sets the surface mapping for Geometry in a 3D layer.
Note: Only when the current layer is a 3D layer of type Vector Dataset, and the height mode in the Style Settings "tab > Extrude Settings" group is set to Absolute mode or Relative to Ground. To activate the Texture Settings "button.

Side Texture(Top Texture)Parameter Settings:
- Map Source: The location of the map file. There are two setting methods, one is to directly Select Texture File the path and specify the mapping file, and the other is to select the field containing the mapping File Path information to obtain the mapping file. If you need to set the same mapping for All Objects, please use the first method; if you want to set different mapping for different Objects, please use the Select Field method. The user needs to edit the path of the map to be used for each object in the attribute table in advance.
- Repeat mode: 2 repeat modes are provided, Repeat Times and Real Size.
Repeat Times: refers to the number of times the map is repeatedly placed, which is divided into horizontal Repeat Times and vertical Repeat Times.
Real Size: refers to mapping according to the specified size, which is divided into horizontal size and vertical size.
- Horizontal Repeat: The number of times the map file is repeated horizontally. Repeat Times can be specified directly by entering a positive integer or by selecting the field that holds the Repeat Times information.
- Portrait Repeat: The number of times the map file is repeated in portrait. Repeat Times can be specified directly by entering a positive integer or by selecting the field that holds the Repeat Times information.
- Lock U/V Ratio: The ratio of the original horizontal and vertical values. When this item is checked, i.e. Lock U/V Ratio, the horizontal and vertical proportions will be kept unchanged. When one of the items is changed, the other value will be changed as required to maintain the shape. When this item is not checked, i.e. Unlock the aspect ratio, the original image proportion will no longer be maintained, and the image will be stretched appropriately.
Operation steps
- On the Style Settings tab, in the Extrude Settings group, click the drop-down arrow to the right of Height Mode to change the height mode to non-ground mode. One of the Absolute, Relative to Ground, or Relative to Underground modes activates the Texture Settings "button.
- Click the Texture Settings "button to enter the Texture Settings" window.
- In the Texture Settings "window, set the Side Texture parameter.
- In the Texture Settings "window, set the Top Texture parameter.
Precautions
- Only when the current layer is a 3D layer of type Vector Dataset and the height mode in the Style Settings tab > Extrude Settings group is set to non-ground mode. The function controls in the "Extrude Settings" "group can be used and the settings are valid. When an object in a 3D layer is stretched vertically, it becomes a 3D body object, and its top and side faces can be mapped by extending the settings.
- If the Current Works pace is not saved, the set map field must use an absolute path to display the map texture; if the Current Works pace is saved, the set field property values for Side Texture and Top Texture can be either a relative or absolute path. Where relative path is relative between Workspace and the location where the map file is saved.
