Style Tab

The Style Tab: Used to set the font style for label objects (text) in the current segmented label thematic map.

  • Segmentation expression: This combo box is used to set the thematic variable for the segmented label thematic map. The property field involved in segmentation must be a numeric field. Label objects corresponding to objects within the same range segment use the same text style, while those in different range segments have different text styles.
    • The dropdown list of the combo box displays the names of numeric property fields from the vector dataset that can be used to create a segmented label thematic map. Users can select any field to change the thematic variable for the current segmentation, or enter a field name in the combo box, but the field must exist in the dropdown list. Users can also choose the "expression..." item from the combo box dropdown list to construct a mathematical expression for the property field in the pop-up "SQL Expression" dialog.
    • After building the field expression, click the "Refresh" button on the right side of the combo box. The current segmented label thematic map will then use the new thematic variable to re-segment and style the label objects (text) and refresh the display effects.
  • Segmentation Method: The combo box on the right is used to set the segmentation method for thematic values. The dropdown list includes all segmentation methods provided by the application, and users can choose a suitable one.
  • Segments: Used to set the number of segments for thematic value segmentation, which is the total number of resulting range segments.
  • Segment Length: Used to set the interval distance for segmentation, i.e., the length of each range segment. This setting is only effective when the segmentation method is custom interval.
  • Segment Header Format: Used to specify the format for expressing the value range of each segment, primarily offering two formats as shown above.
  • Color: The combo box on the right of the label is used to set the text color style for label objects within each range segment in the segmented label thematic map. The dropdown list provides a series of colors. When a color is selected, the text of label objects in each range segment is assigned different colors based on the color variation pattern. The current segmented label thematic map then reconfigures the text color of label objects with the new color and refreshes the display effects.
  • Label Segment List: The bottom area of the Style Tab is the list of all label range segments in the current segmented label thematic map. This list primarily displays the value ranges of the segments and controls the text style and other display settings for label objects within each segment. Each item in the list corresponds to a label range segment.
    • Set whether objects corresponding to thematic values are visible: Controls whether label objects in the segmented label thematic map layer that belong to the corresponding label range segment are displayed. Click the icon to toggle visibility. When the icon is , it indicates visible; when , it indicates not visible.
    • Set the label content for thematic values: The text content displayed on each item in the label segment list represents the value range of its corresponding segment, with the format controlled by "Segment Header Format:". Double-click the text content to make it editable, allowing users to modify it and change the display content on the label segment item.
  • Adjust the values of segmentation points for thematic value segmentation: The column of numeric display boxes on the right side of the label segment list displays and sets the values of segmentation points for all thematic values based on the segmentation thematic variable. Each numeric display box corresponds to a segmentation point. The value of the segmentation point can be changed via this box, and the updated result is reflected in real-time on the current segmented label thematic map layer.
  • Set selected label segment items: The buttons in the middle area of the Style Tab are mainly used to handle the display style, visibility, and other aspects of selected label segment items in the list.
    • The Merge button is used to combine multiple consecutive selected label range segments into one. The value range of the merged segment is the union of the ranges of all merged segments. If no or only one label segment is selected, or if the selected segments are not consecutive, this button is unavailable.
    • The Split button is used to divide a selected label range segment into two new segments.
    • The Text Style button is used to set the text style for all selected label range segments, meaning labels belonging to the selected segments will be displayed with the set text style. After selecting one or more label segment items (using the Shift key for multiple selections), click this button to set the text label style for the selected segments in the pop-up text style dialog.
    • The Visible button controls the visibility of label objects in the current segmented label thematic map that belong to the selected label segment items. Multiple label segment items can be selected simultaneously.
