"Style" Tab
"Style" Tab: Used to set the font style for the label objects (text) in the current segmented label thematic map.
- Segmentation Expression: This combo box is used to set the thematic variable for the segmented label thematic map. The property field involved in segmentation must be a numeric field. Label objects corresponding to features whose thematic values fall within the same range segment are displayed using the same text style, while label objects corresponding to features in different range segments have different text styles.
- The dropdown list of the combo box lists the names of numeric property fields from the vector dataset that can be used to create a segmented label thematic map. Users can select any field to change the thematic variable used for the current segmentation, or enter a field name in the combo box, but this field must exist in the dropdown list. Users can also select the "Expression..." item in the combo box dropdown list to construct a mathematical expression for a property field in the pop-up "SQL Expression" dialog box.
- After constructing the field expression, click the "Refresh" button on the right side of the combo box. The current segmented label thematic map will then use the new thematic variable to re-segment and style the label objects (text) and refresh the display effects.
- Segmentation Method: The combo box on the right is used to set the segmentation method for thematic values. The dropdown list displays all segmentation methods provided by the application. Users can choose a suitable segmentation method from the list.
- Segments: Used to set the number of segments for dividing the thematic values, i.e., the final number of range segments obtained.
- Single Segment Length: Used to set the interval distance for segmentation, i.e., the length of each range segment. This setting is only effective when the segmentation method is "Custom Interval".
- Segment Title Format: Used to specify the format for expressing the value range of each segment. Mainly provides two formats, as shown in the figure above.
- Color Scheme: The combo box to the right of the label is used to set the text color style for label objects within each range segment of the segmented label thematic map. The dropdown list provides a series of color schemes. When a color scheme is selected, the text of label objects in each range segment is assigned different colors according to the color variation pattern of the scheme. The current segmented label thematic map then uses the new color scheme to reconfigure the text colors of label objects and refresh the display effects.
- Rotation Angle: If this checkbox is checked, you can enter a numerical value in the input box on the right as the rotation angle for labels. You can also directly select a field from the dropdown list and use its field value as the rotation angle for labels. This type supports both numeric and text fields.
- Label Range Segment List: The bottom area of the "Style" tab is a list of all label range segments in the current segmented label thematic map. This list is primarily used to display the value ranges of the divided segments and control the text style and other display settings for label objects within each segment. Each item in the list corresponds to one label range segment.
- Set Visibility of Objects Corresponding to Thematic Values: Used to control whether label objects in the segmented label thematic map layer that belong to the label range segment corresponding to this item are displayed. Click the icon to control visibility.
- Set Label Content for Thematic Values: The text content displayed on each item in the label range segment list is the value range of the segment it corresponds to. Its format is controlled by the "Segment Title Format." Double-click the text content to make it editable. Users can edit it to change the displayed content on the label range segment item.
- Adjust Breakpoint Values for Thematic Value Segmentation: The column of numeric display boxes on the right side of the label range segment list is used to display and set the breakpoint values for segmenting all thematic values based on the segmentation thematic variable. Each numeric display box corresponds to one breakpoint. The breakpoint value can be changed via this display box, and the changed result is reflected in real-time on the current segmented label thematic map layer.
- Set Selected Label Range Segment Item(s): Buttons in the middle area of the "Style" tab, mainly used to handle the display style, visibility status, etc., of the selected label range segment item(s) in the list.
- The Merge button is used to merge multiple selected contiguous label range segments into one segment. The value range of the merged segment is the union of the value ranges of all merged segments. If no segment is selected, only one segment is selected, or the selected multiple segments are not contiguous, this button is unavailable.
- The Split button is used to split a selected label range segment into two new segments.
- The Text Style button is used to set the text style for all selected label range segments, meaning labels belonging to the selected segments will be displayed using the set text style. After selecting one or more label range segment items (using the Shift key to select multiple items), click this button. Users can set the text label style for the selected segments in the pop-up Text Style dialog.
- The Visible button is used to control the visibility of label objects belonging to the selected label range segment item(s) in the current segmented label thematic map. Multiple label range segment items can be selected simultaneously.
Note:The fields in the dropdown lists for Segmentation Expression and Rotation Angle are displayed by default as Field Alias. If needed, you can switch to field names in the File tab -> Options group. For details, please refer to the Preferences document.
