Topology Surface Construction

Function Description

Build a Line Dataset or Network Dataset into a Region Dataset with Topology Processing.

Function entrance

  • Data tab-> Topology group-> Topology Surface Construction.

Parameter Description

  • Source Data: Set the Dataset for Topology Surface Construction and the Datasource.
  • Parameter Settings
  • Topology Check: It is recommended to perform Topology Processing on the Dataset to be processed before performing Topology Surface Construction on the Line Dataset. Through Topology Processing, you can repair problematic line objects within the tolerance range (for example, there are Topology errors such as false knots, redundant points, hanging lines, repeated lines, and unmerged adjacent endpoints), and break the intersecting line objects at the intersection point. O as to generate face objects more accurately. Topology Processing saves the user the trouble of having to delete redundant objects that do not meet the criteria after the Topology Surface Construction.

When the Topology Processing check box is selected, the following Topology Processing rules can be selected. Includes Remove Pseudo Nodes, Redundant Vertices, Remove Duplicate Lines, Remove Overshoots, Extend Undershoots, Merge Adjacent Ends, Intersect Arcs, etc. You can select DatasetTopological preprocessing by selecting the appropriate rule pair as needed. For a detailed description of the Topology Preprocessing rule, see the Topology Processing rule .

  • Intersect Arcs: Advanced Settings after checking Topology Check. See the Topology Processing rule for details.
  • Tolerance Settings
  • Short Dangle: a line object whose length is less than Dangle is a short suspension line. Suspended wires set to less than this tolerance will be processed.

Long Dangle: If a suspension line has an intersection with an arc segment after extending a specified length (long Dangle) in its travel direction, the line object is a long suspension line. Suspended wires set to less than this tolerance will be processed.

Fuzzy: Within this range of values, all nodes are considered to be coincident and identical.

  • Result Data
  • Datasource: Set Result Datasource.

Dataset: Set the Resulting dataset name.

    Caution:
Set the Resulting dataset name. Note that when there is no enclosed area in the Line Dataset used for the facet, the resulting Result Dataset has 0 objects.
