Converting Network Data to Point Data
Extract all network nodes from the network dataset to generate a new point dataset.
In the attribute table of the newly generated point dataset, system fields (except SmUserID) are assigned by the system. The SmUserID field and non-system fields inherit the corresponding field values from the sub-point dataset properties table of the source network dataset.
Function Entrance
- Data tab -> Data Processing group -> Type Conversion -> Network to Point.
- Toolbox -> Type Conversion -> Network-Point/Line Conversion -> Network Data-> Point Data.

- In the popped-up Network Data -> Point Data dialog box, set the dataset to be converted, the resulting dataset name, and the target datasource.
- After setting, click the Run button to complete the operation and obtain the result as shown below.
Converting Network Data to Line Data
Extract all network arcs from the network dataset to generate a new line dataset.
In the attribute table of the newly generated line dataset, system fields SmUserID, SmFNode, SmTNode, SmEdgeID, and other non-system field attributes all inherit the corresponding field values from the source network dataset's attribute table.
Function Entrance
- Data tab -> Data Processing group -> Type Conversion -> Network to Line.
- Toolbox -> Type Conversion -> Network-Point/Line Conversion -> Network Data-> Line Data.

Converting Route Data to Line Data
Extract all network arcs from the network dataset to generate a new line dataset.
In the attribute table of the newly generated line dataset, system fields SmUserID, SmFNode, SmTNode, SmEdgeID, and other non-system field attributes all inherit the corresponding field values from the source network dataset's attribute table.
Function Entrance
- Data tab -> Data Processing group -> Type Conversion -> Route to Line.
- Toolbox -> Type Conversion -> Network-Point/Line Conversion -> Route Data-> Line Data.
Procedure
- In the popped-up Route Data -> Line Data dialog box, set the route dataset to be converted, the resulting dataset name, and the target datasource.
- After setting, you can perform the conversion operation.
