Import S-111
Feature Description
SuperMap iDesktopX supports importing *.h5 files that follow the S-111 product specification into file database, database datasource (PostGIS or DMPlus), or EMs datasource. After import, S-111 data can be added to the map window, and surface current features can be symbolically displayed based on the S-111 display catalog specification.

SuperMap iDesktopX 2026 supports S-111 data import.
Function Entry
- In the workspace manager, right-click the target datasource and select Import Nautical Chart Data > S-111.
Operation Instructions
- Open or create a datasource in the workspace to store the *.h5 file, and ensure the datasource is editable.
- Select the target datasource, and choose Import Nautical Chart Data > S-111 from the context menu.
- In the Import Nautical Chart Data dialog, select one or more S-111 *.h5 files. Set the file type to S-111 File (*.h5), then click Open.
- In the S-111 Import dialog, review the files to be imported and modify the Target Datasource as needed. The dialog provides the following information:
- Source File: Displays the name of the *.h5 file to be imported.
- Source Data: Displays the file path of the source data.
- Target Datasource: Displays the target datasource for import. You can select other editable datasources in the current workspace.
- After confirming the files and target datasource are correct, click Import. Once the import is complete, the S-111 data will be saved to the target datasource.
