Thiessen Polygon
Feature Description
Thiessen polygons can be used for qualitative analysis, statistics, proximity analysis, etc. For example, they can describe the characteristics of an area using the properties of discrete points; use point data to calculate polygon area data; determine adjacent discrete points by directly observing n-sided polygons (indicating adjacency to n points); when a data point falls within a Thiessen polygon, it is nearest to the corresponding discrete point without distance calculation.
