The Symbol Library Management supports adding custom symbol libraries and controls their display in selector dialogs.

In addition to workspace resources, four default external symbol libraries are provided: Symbols for the Third National Land Survey, 3D Symbols, Basic Symbols, and Auto Cartographic Symbols.

Taking point symbols as an example, as shown in the following figure:

Feature Entry

• Styles Tab -> Point Style Group -> Lines drop-down box -> More Symbols option -> Symbol Library Management button.

Steps

• Click the Add Symbol Library button to open the Add Symbol Library dialog. Select the symbol library path, enter the symbol library name, then click OK to add an external symbol library.
• Select a symbol library in the list below and click Export to save it locally.
• Check the box next to a symbol library to control its display in the selector dialog.
