Point Symbol Style Settings (scene)

As shown in the figure below, the symbol library window is currently loaded with a Marker Symbol Library. The following describes how to set a point symbol through the symbol library window:

  • Select point symbol: In the Marker Symbol Selector, select the desired symbol.
  • Set the display style of the symbol: The system supports three types of point symbols: vector point symbol, grid point symbol, and 3D Model Symbol. The Preview area in the Symbol Style Settings area of the

Symbol Library window is used to preview the Marker Style set by the user.

In the Symbol Style Settings area of the symbol library window, you can set the style according to the type of the selected point symbol. The Set Parameters of each type of point symbol are described below.

    Vector Point Symbol

    • Symbol Size: This area is used to set the size of the point symbol.
    • Symbol Color: Set the color of the point symbol. Click the Drop-down Button to its right. You can select Default Color in the pop-up color panel, or click the Other Colors.. button at the bottom of the color panel to get more custom colors.
    • Symbol Rotate:

    Grid Point Symbol

    • Transparency: Sets the transparency effect of the point symbol. You can enter a numeric value in the spin box to the right to set it, or click the arrow to the right of the spin box to use the slider that pops up to adjust the transparency. The value of transparency is any integer between 0 and 100, with 0 being completely opaque and 100 being completely transparent.

    3D Model Symbol

    • Symbol Size: This area is used to set the size of the point symbol.
      • X-axis scaling ratio: Sets the scaling ratio of the 3D Model Symbol in the X-axis. You can enter a value in the spin box to the right of the symbol or click the arrow to the right of the spin box to adjust the width of the symbol using the slider that pops up. In the preview effect, the snapshot of the Model Symbol changes in width.
      • Y-axis scaling ratio: Sets the scaling ratio of the 3D Model Symbol on the Y-axis. You can enter a value in the spin box to the right of the symbol or click the arrow to the right of the spin box to adjust the height of the symbol using the slider that pops up. In the preview effect, the snapshot of the Model Symbol changes in height.
      • Z-axis scaling ratio: Set the scaling ratio of the 3D Model Symbol on the Z axis. You can enter a value in the spin box to the right of the symbol or click the arrow to the right of the spin box to adjust the height of the symbol using the slider that pops up. Because the preview is a snapshot of the Model Symbol, the Z-axis zoom ratio setting is not displayed in the preview.
      • Lock Aspect Ratio: This check box is used to set whether to fix the symbol X, Y, and Z scale when changing the symbol X, Y, and Z scale. The system does not check this box by default. If this box is checked, which one is set, the other two will change accordingly.
    • Transparency: This parameter is not valid for 3D Model Symbols and cannot be set by the user.
  • After setting, click the OK button in the symbol library window to apply the symbol settings you have made.
Caution:
  • When Layer Style is set on a Vector Cache Layer, only 3D Symbol is supported.
