marking of fishing nets

Feature Description

Marking of fishing nets divides the image into regular grids, records the dimension status for each grid, helping users intuitively grasp the labeling progress and avoid omissions.

This function is suitable for block labeling of large-scale images.

SuperMap iDesktopX 2026 version starts to provide the marking of fishing nets function.

Function Entry

Manage Image Sample tab -> Objects group -> Marking of fishing nets.

Operation Instructions

  1. Create fishnet

Click the marking of fishing nets button to pop up the Size of the Fishing Net dialog box. The following creation methods are provided:

    • Row and column number: Enter the number of rows and columns to evenly divide the image into a specified number of grids.
    • Pixel size: Enter the pixel width and height to generate square fishing nets of fixed size starting from the top-left corner of the image.
  2. Marking of fishing nets dialog box

After creating the fishnet, the Marking of Fishing Nets dialog box automatically pops up. If accidentally closed, you can reopen it at any time by clicking the marking of fishing nets button again. The dialog box description is as follows:

    • Table description:
      • ID: Starting from the top-left corner of the image, number each grid by row and column in the format "row-column", for example, the first row and first column is 1-1.
      • Dimension status: Displays the current status of the grid (Not started, In progress, or Completed). When creating the fishnet, the system automatically matches the initial status based on existing sample tags. You can manually switch the status via the drop-down options.
      • Status filter: A filter icon is provided in the upper right corner of the dimension status column. Click to pop up the filter dialog box, defaulting to select all. You can filter to display grids with specific statuses as needed.
    • Show the fishing net: Checked by default, shows the fishing net in the map. Click the style button on the right to set the border color, line width, etc., of the fishing net.
    • Resets the size: If you need to re-divide the fishing net, click this button. The system will pop up a confirmation prompt: "To reset the size of the fishing net, you need to reconfirm the marking content. Do you want to continue?" After confirmation, the size of the fishing net will be reset, and the original fishing net and status will be overwritten.
  3. Using the fishing net for labeling

In the Marking of Fishing Nets dialog box, select a row record, and the map will automatically zoom and locate to the grid bounds. At this time, you can use drawing tools (such as Draw Polygon) to create sample tags within this grid or edit existing objects. After completing the labeling, you can modify the dimension status of this grid to Completed in the dialog box.

  4. Repeat step 3 until all grids are marked as Completed (each image independently generates a fishing net; when switching images, the Marking of Fishing Nets dialog box will automatically refresh to the fishing net of the current image). You can also close the dialog box at any time and reopen it later to continue labeling.
