Interconversion of CAD, composite data and simple data

CAD to Simple

Decompose a CAD Dataset into multiple Simple Datasets. Each CAD Geometry will be converted into a simple type of data. For example, all face objects will be output to the Region Dataset, Text will be output to the Text Dataset, and Region3D will be output to the 3D Region Dataset. For parameterized Geometry, the output Simple Dataset no longer records its parameter information, and the system will regard it as a polyline with many adjacent nodes, and only Nodes will be recorded.

Function Entry

  • Data tab-> Data Processing group-> Type Conversion-> CAD to Simple.
  • Toolbox-> Type Conversion-> CAD, Composite, and Simple data conversion-> CAD to Simple.

Operating Instructions

  1. The CAD to Simple Data dialog pops up, and on the Source Data tab, select the CAD and its Datasource.
  2. Under the Result Data tab, select the Datasource where the converted Dataset is to be saved. Select the type of Simple Dataset to be converted at the bottom of the dialog box, and name the output Simple Dataset, or use the default name. For example, selecting the check box in front of the Line Dataset label indicates that the line object in CAD is exported as a Line Dataset.
  3. Once the setup is complete, the conversion operation can be performed.
Caution:

This function only supports the conversion of 2D/3D point, line and surface objects in CAD, and does not support the conversion of Model Object. If only Model Data is available in the CAD Dataset, the Target Dataset Type check box and the Convert button are grayed out and cannot be converted.

Simple to CAD

Compose several Simple Datasets of different types into one CAD Dataset.

Function Entry

  • Data tab-> Data Processing group-> Type Conversion-> Simple to CAD.
  • Toolbox-> Type Conversion-> CAD, Composite, and Simple data conversion-> Simple to CAD.

Operating Instructions

  1. On the Simple Data to CAD pop-up dialog, select the Datasource where the Simple Dataset is located. Click the Add button in the toolbar above the dialog box to pop up the selection dialog box. In the selection dialog box, the Simple Dataset is displayed under all the Datasources in the Current Workspace. Add the Dataset you want to convert. These Datasets can come from a number of different Datasources. At the same time, operations such as Select All, Select Inversely, and Delete provided in the toolbar can be combined. After the data is

added, the list area of the source data shows the Simple Dataset to be transformed. Include the serial number of the Dataset, the Dataset Name, and the Datasource where it is located.

  2. Under the Result Data tab, set the Datasource and composite Dataset Name of the conversion result to be saved.
  3. Once the setup is complete, the conversion operation can be performed.

CAD to Model

This feature allows you to convert Model Objects in composite data to Model Data in a 3D Model Dataest.

Model Dataest is a new Dataset mode added to SuperMap, which replaces the original model stored in CAD, so that Model can be unified with other types of Dataset in management and operation, and at the same time, it is more efficient and smooth in display efficiency. With Model Dataest, CAD Save Model data is no longer recommended.

Function Entry

  • Data tab-> Data Processing group-> Type Conversion-> CAD to Model.
  • Toolbox-> Type Conversion-> CAD, Composite, and Simple data conversion-> CAD to Model.

Operating Instructions

  1. The CAD to Model dialog pops up. If a CAD Dataset is selected in the Workspace Manager, it is added to the dialog list by default.
  2. Set the Dataset to be converted, the Resulting dataset name and the stored Datasource in the dialog box.
  3. Once the setup is complete, the conversion operation can be performed.

EPS Compound to Simple...

This function can convert EPS composite point/line/region/text into simple data.

EPS data is the abbreviation of Encapsulated PostScript. It is a cross-platform standard format. The extension is.eps on the PC platform and.epsf on the Macintosh platform. It is mainly used for the storage of vector images and raster images.

Function Entry

  • Click Data tab-> Data Processing group-> Type Conversion-> EPS Compound to Simple...
  • Toolbox-> Type Conversion-> CAD, Composite, and Simple data conversion-> EPS Compound to Simple..

Operating Instructions

  1. The EPS Compound to Simple.. dialog pops up. If EPSDataset is selected in Workspace Manager, the Dataset is added to the dialog list by default.
  2. Set the Dataset to be converted, the Resulting dataset name and the stored Datasource in the dialog box.
  3. Once the setup is complete, the conversion operation can be performed.
