Extract all polygons

Instructions for use

The Extract all polygons, namely the Extract All Isoregions, specifies all the qualified isosurfaces in the model by the parameter Extract Surface.

  • The Source Dataset for Extract Isosurface must be a DEM or Gird Dataset.

Application Example

Open the Terrain "Datasource under the Exercise Data/Raster Analysis folder, and there is DGM data with a resolution of 5 meters, which we will use as an example.

Function entrance

  • On the Spatial Analysis tab-> Raster Analysis-> Surface Analysis-> Extract all polygons;
  • Toolbox-> Raster Analysis Tools-> Surface Analysis-> Extract Isolines/Areas-> Extract all polygons. (iDesktopX)

Main parameters

  • Settings include resampling coefficients, smoothing methods, Smoothness in Source Data, Target Dataset, and Parameter Settings. For the settings of public parameters such as source data, Target Dataset and Parameter Settings, please refer to Public Parameter Description .
  • Base values and equidistance in Set Parameters.
  • Reference value: The reference value is used as the initial value for generating the isosurface, and is calculated in the front and back directions at the interval of the isosurface, so it is not necessarily the value of the minimum isosurface.

Equidistance: The level distance between two adjacent isosurfaces from the datum value. The default unit is the same as the Source Dataset unit. Together with the reference value, it determines which isosurfaces are extracted.

After Parameter Settings is completed, Result Info will be automatically calculated and displayed. The description of Result Info is as follows:

Maximum grid value: The maximum grid value in the selected Source Dataset, which is system information and cannot be changed.

Minimum grid value: The minimum grid value in the selected Source Dataset, which is system information and cannot be changed.

Maximum Isosurface: The maximum value of the isosurface in the Target Dataset.

Minimum Isosurface: The minimum value of the isosurface in the Target Dataset.

Num Equivalents: The total number of equivalent faces in the Target Dataset.

  • Click the "OK" button to complete the isosurface extraction operation, and the results are shown in the following figure:
