Custom Scale

The Custom Scale feature allows editing scale lists and setting user default scales, enabling the application of default scales to newly created maps within the same workspace. This avoids the need to reconfigure scale information each time a new map is created.

Feature Entry

  • Map status bar -> Scale combo box drop-down button -> Customize.
  • Map Properties panel -> Fixed Scale section -> Customize.
  • Layer Properties panel -> Max/Min Visible Scale combo box drop-down button -> Customize.

Steps

  1. Access the Custom Scale List dialog through any feature entry mentioned above. The default display shows China's eight standard scales, referred to as System Scales in SuperMap ImageX Pro .
  2. Manage scale records using the dialog toolbar:
    • Add: Inserts a new scale record following existing pattern (e.g., clicking Add in standard scales list inserts 1:2500).
    • Add Current Scale: Inserts the current map scale into the list.
    • Quick Set Scale: Dropdown provides User Default Scale, System Scale, Global Tile Scale options. Selecting an option clears current list and displays corresponding scales (e.g., selecting Global Tile Scale replaces list with global tile scales).
      Note:

User Default Scale becomes available only after clicking the Settings button on toolbar.

    • Select All/Invert: Selects all scales or cancels multiple selections.
    • Delete: Removes selected scale records.
    • Import: Imports scales from Map Scale Config File (.xml).
    • Export: Exports current scales as basemap config file (.xml) for sharing.
    • Settings: Sets current list as User Default Scale, enabling automatic application to new maps in current workspace. Existing maps can switch to these scales via Quick Set Scale button.
    Note:

Double-click scale cells to edit values directly.

  3. Check Fixed Scales to apply listed scales to current map. Map information only displays under fixed scales.
  4. Click OK to complete customization.
