Manage Tie Points

The Manage Tie Points feature enables classified display of existing tie points for error distribution analysis, and manual addition/editing of tie points to improve accuracy. Key functionalities include filtering, editing, setting status values, adding, deleting, sorting, and classified display. This document focuses on filtering, editing, status value configuration, and classified display.

Click the Imagery tab->Geometric Correction group->Generate Tie Points dropdown->Manage Tie Points button to open the management window.

Available only when a tie point dataset exists in the workflow.

Supported since SuperMap ImageX Pro 11i(2023) release.

Filter

Click the Filter button on the toolbar to apply three filtering methods for displaying tie point records in the attribute table:

  • Current Map Extent: Displays attributes of tie points visible in the current map view.
  • Match Image: Select one or multiple images to show tie points associated with specified imagery.
  • SQL Expressions: Click the adjacent button to set SQL filter expressions, or directly input expressions to display tie points meeting specified criteria.

Edit

Select a record in the attribute table and click the Edit button to open the Edit dialog and Properties panel.

  • Edit Dialog:
    • Provides five editing modes: Select, Add, Edit, Confirm Point, and Delete. Click Confirm Point to save positional modifications.
    • Supports image navigation through Pan, Linked Views, and Full View. Linked Views is enabled by default for synchronized display in overlapping image windows.
  • Properties Panel: Displays tie point metadata including type, image overlap, image coordinates, etc., for real-time reference during editing.

Set Status Value

The status value determines whether a tie point participates in image adjustment: 1 indicates participation, 0 indicates exclusion.

Select the target cell in the Status column and click the State button to toggle the value.

Classified Display

After block adjustment, visualize tie points based on error values to understand error distribution patterns.

Check the Classified Display checkbox to enable error-based visualization. Use the adjacent Settings button to customize display parameters:

  • Error: Select error source from Image Space X Direction Residual or Image Space Y Direction Residual.
  • Number of Classes: Set classification levels (default: 3), with options for 2, 3, 4, or 5 classes.
  • Classification Settings: Shows Style, editable Ranges, and Classification Interval for each class.
