SuperMap iPortal provides the BuilderX WebApp, an online map application construction tool that requires no coding. It enables users to quickly create professional interactive map applications through simple drag-and-drop operations. Users can design scrolling pages and full-screen applications, incorporate visualization components tailored for web construction, and enjoy flexible and free layouts — empowering the creation of unique and modern map-based webpages.

Entrance

After logging into iPortal, you can access BuilderX to create applications (requires the user to be a 'Creator' type with roles that include permissions to create, update, and delete applications, such as PORTAL_USER.  For the division of user type and permission in iPortal, please see: Roles, User Types, and Permissions):

  • On the 'Resource Center' > 'Applications' page, click 'Create Application' on the right-hand side to enter the creation page.
  • On the 'Application Center' page, click 'BuilderX' in the left sidebar, then click 'New' on the welcome page on the right to enter the creation page.

Workflow

The general workflow for using BuilderX is: Create Application > Add Data > Add Visualization Components > Preview > Save and Share. In the building workflow, shortcut keys are supported for undo (Ctrl+Z), redo (Ctrl+Y), copy (Ctrl+C), and paste (Ctrl+V).

  1. Create Application: Supports creating scrolling pages and full-screen application pages. You can start from a blank canvas, layouts or templates provided by BuilderX.
  2. Add Data: Some visualization components (such as text and text list components) require associated data. You can add, view, manage and export the data used in components through the Data Panel.
  3. Add Visualization Components: Drag and drop components of various types into the page, including layout, web page, map, scene, chart, and basic components. Configure component styles and enable interactive linkages between different components.
  4. Preview, Save, and Share: Once an application is completed, you can preview its display effect, then save and share it to put the application results into use.

In addition, the Application Builder also provides capabilities for intelligent page building and extension development:

  • Intelligent Page Building: To lower the user barrier and further improve application building efficiency, BuilderX includes an AI assistant that can intelligently generate and edit pages. You only need to describe your requirements in natural language, and the AI will find suitable components based on the data and maps you provide, helping you complete page planning and building. See: Intelligent Application Building.
  • Extension Development: Supports user-defined components and their configuration items, left-side tabs, and the top toolbar, as well as allowing users to integrate custom data. See: Extension Development.
