BuilderX includes an AI Assistant (Beta) that can intelligently generate and edit pages. Its intelligent generation capability is supported by QwenPaw's model scheduling and Agent runtime. You only need to describe your requirements in natural language. For example, "Generate a water conservancy and water affairs monitoring application, with a map on the left and charts on the right, using a cyan-blue tech style." The AI will then find suitable components based on the data and maps you provide, helping you complete page planning and building. This aims to lower the user operation threshold and further improve application building efficiency.
Note: The BuilderX AI Assistant is currently supported only in SuperMap iPortal 2026 Update1 and later versions, and is provided only in the Docker Compose package. Earlier versions and other deployment methods are not supported.
Supported Features
Users can describe requirements in natural language in the AI assistant to implement the following functions on the page currently being edited:
- Generate page: Plan content, page layout, and visual style for a blank page, and finally generate a complete page from the blank page. Only full-screen applications are supported; scrolling pages are not supported for now.
- Modify page: Generate page layout and visual style optimization plans for an existing page. Only full-screen applications are supported; scrolling pages are not supported for now.
- Component editing: Add and delete components, modify component properties, and adjust component layout positions on the page. Only full-screen applications are supported; scrolling pages are not supported for now.
- Component query: Query components already added to the current page.
- Use resources: Add data to the page, bind data to components, list existing data sources, and preview some field information of data sources. The following data types are currently supported. Uploading local files in the AI assistant is not supported for now. If you need to use local files, please manually add a data source in BuilderX first.
-
Map: Public maps, my maps, public map services, my map services from the iPortal resource center, user-provided iServer RestMap map services, SuperMap Online maps, and Tianditu. For services, a specific map within the service can be selected.
-
3D scene: Public scenes and my scenes from the iPortal resource center. The scene base map supports Tianditu base maps.
-
Data: Data from the iPortal resource center, iServer RestData data services, and layer data in the current page map.
-
- Application saving: When explicitly requested by the user, save the current complete application to iPortal. Saving the current application and Save As are supported.
Model Configuration
Before using the AI Assistant, ensure that a usable model has been configured in QwenPaw. Configuration entry: http://<server>:<port>/models, where <server>:<port> is the address of your current iPortal service. For example, if the iPortal address is http://127.0.0.1:8190/iportal, the model configuration address is: http://127.0.0.1:8190/models. For details on how to configure models in QwenPaw, refer to: QwenPaw Models. You can also chat directly with the AI Assistant, and the AI Assistant will provide a directly accessible QwenPaw model configuration address.
Usage Steps
You can follow the steps below to build an application through the AI assistant:
- Create or open an existing application in BuilderX, and go to the page that needs to be edited.
- Switch to the AI assistant from the left sidebar, describe and send page building or optimization requirements in the dialog box at the bottom of the AI assistant panel. The AI assistant will automatically plan the page structure, content, and style, and generate a preview plan based on the requirements. If you are not satisfied with the preview plan, you can continue to adjust it through conversation.
- When you confirm that the page effect is satisfactory, you can save the application through conversation.
Note:
- When the AI assistant fails to connect, check the following in order: (1) Whether the BuilderX page is open and has successfully connected to the MCP Server; (2) Whether the Server address and port in the AI client configuration are correct; (3) Whether the firewall allows WebSocket 9527 and HTTP 9528 ports.
- After page refresh, page switching, page reconnection, or context expiration, the preview plan generated by AI will become invalid and needs to be regenerated.
- To avoid AI-generated effects affecting existing page results, changes made by the AI assistant to the page will not be automatically saved to iPortal. The application is saved only when explicitly requested by the user.
- The AI assistant can only operate on the single page you are currently editing. It does not support creating, deleting, or switching pages, nor does it support modifying multiple pages at the same time, modifying other pages, or pages in applications that are not open. If you need the AI assistant to operate on multiple pages, please manually create pages first, switch to the target page, and then start a new session from that page.
AI Prompt Reference
Page
- When you want to generate a complete page from a blank page, you need to describe the entire page requirements. It is recommended to specify the desired content, page layout, and visual style in the conversation. These three can be provided separately or freely combined:
- Page content: Which data, maps, or scenes are used to build a page with what content theme, for example: "Use the 'Sichuan Province Power Station Power Generation' map and the 'Sichuan Power Station Last Month Power Generation' data in Online to create a power generation data visualization dashboard."
- Page layout: The positional relationship of maps, charts, and indicators on the page, for example: "Map in the center, analysis charts on both sides, indicators at the bottom", "Map on the left, chart group on the right".
- Visual style: The visual language of the background, primary color, panels, titles, indicators, and charts on the page, for example: "cyan-blue tech style", "warm orange industrial style", "dark blue business style", "fluorescent green futuristic style".
Example prompts: "Use the 'Sichuan Province Power Station Power Generation' map and the 'Sichuan Power Station Last Month Power Generation' data in Online to generate a power generation data visualization dashboard, using a layout with a map on the left and a chart group on the right, and an overall warm orange industrial style." "Use the first map of the 'Seventh National Population Census' in Online and the 'Seventh National Population Census National Provincial Population' layer data to create a population census data visualization page, with the map in the center, provincial population change trends and total population ranking charts on the left and right sides, two key indicators at the top, and a cyan-blue tech style."
- If you need to regenerate the page effect, you need to clearly express the intention to rebuild in the conversation and specify whether to retain the existing business theme, page layout, or visual style.
Example prompts: "Rebuild a page with a natural resources theme", "On the basis of retaining the existing business data, replace the entire current page with a cyan-blue tech style".
Components
- When you want to add components to the page, modify the properties of existing components, delete specified components, or adjust the layout positions of components on the page, it is recommended to clearly specify the target components and the desired operations in the conversation.
Example prompts: "Add a button in the upper right corner of the page", "Change the title of the sales chart to orange", "Delete the power change line chart".
Data
- When you want to view available data on the current page, you can ask about existing data sources on the page, or specify data and fields to preview.
Example prompts: "What available data is on the page?", "Preview the device name, alarm level, and occurrence time of the 'Device Alarm' data".
- When you want to specify a data source to generate components or bind data to components, it is recommended to specify the exact name or URL of the data source in the conversation, as well as which specific fields in the data to use; when using map layer data, clearly specify which layer.
Example prompts: "Use the 'October Sales' data source in the current page to create a pie chart and place it on the right side of the page", "Use https://example.com/iserver/services/data-demo/rest/data/datasources/World/datasets/Countries to create a chart", "Use the 'Monitoring Stations' layer in the current map to generate a station count indicator", "Add the 'City 3D Model' in my scenes", "Switch the base map of the current 3D scene to Tianditu imagery".
- When you want to perform statistical processing on data, it is recommended to specify the exact field names in the data and the processing operations in the conversation.
Example prompts: "Calculate the total water consumption by district and county, and display the top 10 in descending order", "Calculate the average rainfall by month and sort in ascending order by month".
Saving
- Clearly state the saving requirement in the conversation. The AI will call the save tool to save the current application completely to iPortal.
Example prompts: "Save the current application to iPortal", "Save the current application as to iPortal".
Not Recommended Expressions
- Only mentioning "make it look better": It lacks requirements for style, scope, and content to retain. The AI generation result is uncontrollable. You should specify modification directions such as page layout and visual style.
- Specifying multiple theme styles at the same time: For example, "both cyan-blue and warm orange" or "try both cyan-blue tech style and warm orange industrial style" will cause ambiguity. You should clearly specify which theme style to use.
- Treating layout as color: "Switch to a left-image right-table style" only expresses layout, not color or material.
- Treating business theme words as visual style: For example, "use a medical style" may also trigger medical content understanding. When you only need to borrow the color of a business theme, you should say "use a fluorescent green tech style, and keep the business content unchanged".
History
The AI assistant supports automatically saving conversation history. The history can be traced from the latest entry to the first entry, and keyword search for conversations is supported.
- View historical sessions: Click "View Session Records" in the upper right corner of the AI assistant panel. Historical session records will be displayed in the panel. Each record saves the conversation content but does not save the page effects achieved by the conversation.
- Restore historical sessions: In the historical session list, select a historical session, and the session record will be loaded in the AI assistant panel.
