Color Scheme Editor

Instructions for use

The color scheme editor can be used to create new color schemes, as well as modify and adjust existing ones.

Access points

Add

  • Start tab -> Color -> Color Scheme Manager, select the group where the new color scheme needs to be stored, click the Add button to enter the Color Scheme Editor
  • In the thematic map dock bars, click the edit button on the right of Color to enter the Color Scheme Editor
  • In the thematic map dock bars, click the dropdown menu button on the right of Color -> Custom colors to enter the Color Scheme Editor

Edit

  • Start tab -> Color -> Color Scheme Manager, select the color scheme to edit, click the Edit button to enter the Color Scheme Editor
  • In the thematic map dock bars, click the button on the right of Color to enter the Color Scheme Editor

Parameter description

  • Toolbar:
    • Add: Click the button, the system default color will be automatically added to the color list. If you need to edit an added color, click the color band in the list that needs to be edited, then select the desired color in the pop-up color panel. At least two colors must be present in the list.
    • Delete: Click the button to remove unwanted colors.
    • Reverse: Click the button to reverse the order of colors in the list below.
    • Color adjustment order: Click the top, move up, move down, or bottom buttons to adjust the order of these colors.
    • Import: Supports importing existing color scheme files (*.scs).
    • Export: Allows exporting the edited color scheme as a *.scs file.
  • Basic information:
    • Select color change method: Set the color change method. The system provides two options: gradient and random, with gradient as the default.

      Gradient refers to the gradual blending between multiple colors, meaning that various colors are inserted between color A and color B to gradually transition from color A to color B, and these inserted colors are called gradient colors.

      Random refers to a jumping blend between multiple colors, meaning that various colors are inserted between color A and color B to jump from color A to color B, and these intermediate colors are randomly generated each time.

    • Set interval color count: Color interval count: Specifies the number of intermediate colors between two adjacent key colors. The interval color count ranges from 0 to 255, defaulting to 32. If the user wants a more natural transition between adjacent colors in the color scheme, they can appropriately increase the interval color count.
  • Save methods: Provides save and save as options.
    • Save: Saves the edited color scheme to the current one, overwriting it.
    • Save as: Saves the edited color scheme as a new one, requiring selection of a group, and filling in the name, author, and description.
    Tip:
    • If it is a new color scheme, saving is equivalent to saving as.
